Good morning all and hope you are still surviving the turbulent times we live in?

Keeping away from strikes and politics in an attempt to enjoy the weekend lets have a look at our betting options and touch on the global ante-post markets.

Horseracing:

This weekend we have the English and Irish St Legers as far as the oldest classic to be run at Doncaster on Saturday we still have Rewilding at the top of the boards 2/1 now 14/10! If we consider a filly Snow Fairy 8/1 is second fav. I am sure Dettori can make it his 6th win in the third leg of the triple crown and be two short of Lester Piggott's record.

The Irish equivalent should be fought out between Profound Beauty and Sans Fontieres.

Profound Beauty(red cap) can go close on Sunday

Some great racing from France on Sunday where Sariska (please don't leave me in the stalls this time) takes on Midday.
Behkabad could show why he is second fav for the Arc plus Moonlight Cloud "the best 2 year old Freddie Head has trained"!

The Ayr Gold Cup is on the 18th Sept and the appropriately named Hawkeyethenoo 8/1 would be a popular winner.
Ascot on the 25th Sept take the evens on Canford Hills for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

The 3rd of October is the Arc and after the call that Fame and Glory wont race before the big one, he has drifted to 5/1 fav.
I might be tempted to take the price in what could be regarded as a "non superstar" event.

Fame and Glory 5/1 for the Arc

Behkabad runs on Sunday, Workforce would have to reproduce its "fluke"? Derby win lets see how well Rewilding runs in the St Leger, not forgetting Cape Blanco's last win over RVW.

Australia will soon be in the limelight with the Cox Plate 23rd of Oct where So You Think might we worth a stab at 3/1.
The Cup has a "Shocking" fav at 10/1 for the 2nd of Nov.

Shocking 10/1 to retain the Cup

In the States we have Zenyatta firming to 4/1 for the Breeders Cup Classic on the 6th Nov. In addition Midday 2/1 could be heading for the BC Fillies/Mares on the 5th plus expect to see Goldikova win on the big night in the BC Mile.

We have the Emerald Cup locally on the 25th Sept, but no betting activity at this stage where Storm Crossing could start fav.

Soccer:

Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle and Chelsea should be a good ATC.

Rugby:

Sharks, Bulls, Lions and WP should all win but will have to check the handicaps to place a bet!

Boxing:

A few bouts on Sat and Klitschko, Martinez, Magee, Marsh and Molitor can all win.

A few highlighted posts from this week

All the best to MR A to get formgrids up and running again, a poor show from Tellytrack not to give his free site free press in addition hope the guys in PE get a fair deal with the closing of the Arlington track.

Still await feedback from P or the RA in regards to site customer feedback but have been down this long and winding road a few times over the years.

The sooner that P and the R A use the Forum as a marketing tool for customer satisfaction as opposed to it being treated as the enemy the better for racing in the long run. Just consider how quickly bookmakers react to concerns on the site and don't just ignore, casinos have the same attitude to their clients. (Makes you think!)

So whatever you do this weekend have a punt and may the best horse, man or team win.

I see Formgrids has a log of losing jockeys on odds on shots

I wonder if they can do a losing log on favourites

Would like to see where Karl Neisius features .............. with rides like the one on Margaret Court last week ... one wonders

Hope we will get coverage?

THE next two Breeders' Cup meetings, to be held at Churchill Downs, will be broadcast exclusively in the UK and Ireland on At The Races and in betting shops that take the SIS service.

The deal for the two-day meetings in November 2010 and 2011 has been signed with Breeders' Cup Limited, and will effectively blank out the self-styled world championships from Racing UK and TurfTV screens, which have shared coverage in the past.

ATR has also secured the internet streaming distribution rights for the UK and Irish markets, which will be made available for bookmakers' sites, and to archived Breeders' Cup races.

The contract is wrapped around betting rights, which will give ATRand SIS exclusivity to license betting operators to co-mingle bets into pari-mutuel pools at Churchill Downs via US provider TRNi.

ATR will be sending at least two UK presenters to the meeting, to complement the London-based studio presentation.

Chief executive Matthew Imi said on Friday: "With considerable European success in recent years, the Breeders' Cup has become a 'must see' event in the UK and Ireland."

Phil Siers, managing director of the SIS LBO division, added: "This year's Breeders' Cup fits nicely into our extendednight service, and we are offering it to our customers without charge, whereas last year's event was only available by paid subscription.

"We believe the competitive nature and high quality fields will provide an attractive betting medium."

ATR is setting up a dedicated online microsite that will go live six weeks before the event.

Breeders' Cup incentives for overseas horses

USA: The Breeders' Cup has made major changes to its nomination system for overseas horses, bringing to an end to its cross-registration agreement with the European Breeders' Fund as a result.

In a significant boost to the 'Win-and-you're in' Challenge series, the Breeders' Cup will also pay the entry fees and subsidise travel costs for horses winning any qualfying race that carries automatic right of participation.

From next year, eligibility for non-American horses to the Breeders' Cup will be secured via stallion owners who will pay 50 per cent (25 per cent in the southern hemisphere) of a sire's published nomination fee.

Until now, foals have been nominated individually at a cost of $500 if they have also been registered to the EBF.

The switch has been made with the backing of major stallion operations such as Coolmore and Darley.

Breeders' Cup President Greg Avioli said it was made with the aim of attracting more international runners to the Breeders' Cup.

A statement issued by the EBF said it "regretted" the end of the cross-registration deal, "an agreement which has stood the test of time since the 1995 covering season".
