Phum are going to be withdrawing the R600 travelling expences from next month...
Spies, however, says he will probably not be as big a force in Kimberley in the future because Phumelela is to withdraw the R600 travel subsidy from 1 October.
``It costs R1,200 to get a horse to Kimberley from the Vaal,’’ said Spies. ``I might meet some resistance from my owners about taking horses there when the cost is going to double.’’
Phumelela’s Racing Executive Patrick Davis said the subsidy had been put in place in 2008 and was only intended to be offered for a year in order to increase the sizes of fields.
"We allowed it to continue longer than intended. But we’ve now relaxed the elimination clauses whereby local Kimberley trainers are only guaranteed one berth in each race (except those races for non winners), rather than two. So it seemed an opportune time to withdraw the travel allowance - especially because the Kimberley trainers felt that would be a fair trade for opening up the elimination system.’’

Yesterday was a breeze for the PA but I suspect it will be a bit more difficult today.
If you are looking at a smaller perm then I would banker the Little Master which does look one of the best bets on the card but still hesitant after the Lotz/Jack Dan event 2 weeks ago...imagine if Little Master runs unplaced... Others to consider as PA bankers is Richin Style, African Jet & Whistling Gill.
Duty to Win have little to beat now that half of the liked ones are scratched.
Herewith the PA for today...not wanting to miss out on the 6th in a row and expecting some tough races at the 2nd half I will play the bigger one:
PA: 1(3) x 11,5,7,4 x 3,5,1,2 x 1,7,6 x 3,9,4 x 3,1,12,4 x 9,4,5,12
I certainly will be playing a % today....it is campfire Kimberley after all!
Regards,
Loopy

I doubt there are even 40 " outside" horses transported to Kimberley per meeting. 40 x 600 = R 24,000.00 per Kimberley meeting subsidised by P. Obviously any private trainers near kimberley are subsidised as well ..if so this shoud be for a much smaller amount ( cause they live closer )
change the subsidy formula. if you transport less than 100kms you get X, 100 - 200 kms you get Y, & Joburg guys still get the R 600.00
so for a measley R25 G odd a meeting they want to take this away. HOW MUCH WILL YOUR POOLS DROP P when you have tiny fields, & P miller has 5 runners, Cliffie has 3 runners & V Rugg 3 runners in each race.
are you not shooting yourselves in the foot ?...... have a rethink !
