What happened, the picnic spots, etc, always one of the highlights of the year.
Family fun at Fontwell
FONTWELL has teamed with "Racing For Change" at Sunday’s family fun day to bring racegoers closer to the sport with free activities that include a ‘meet the racehorse’ display, expert tips for punters, a state-of-the-art equiciser, and screening of footage from the Racing Post’s Born to Run series.
Sponsors 888.com are backing entry to the grandstand and paddock for £8.88 if booked on Saturday, plus a cup of tea or coffee for 88p, and free entry for 88-year-olds.

Always trying something different to get the people racing
Ladies' day has X-Factor
KEMPTON mixes top-class racing on Saturday, featuring three Tote-sponsored races worth a total of £160,000, and ladies’ dayentertainment, climaxed by X-Factor finalist Olly Murs performing live.
The prize haul for the best-dressed lady, judged by TV personality Jeff Brazier, ranges from VIP tickets for four to the O2 Arena and a table for four in the Panoramic restaurant to a month's membership and £50 of beauty treatment at the Weybridge Health Club and a year's supply of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
Next on the Kempton calendar is Bollywood beer and balti night a week today, when Eastenders star Preeya Kalidas performs after racing. Advanced booking on 01932 753518 offers entry, drink and a curry dish, a betting voucher and discount for a return visit for £20.

Looks like everyone on the bandwagon, the flat season has come and gone.
Ladies' day curtain-closer
THIRSK brings down the curtain for 2010 on Saturday with the annual ladies’ day meeting. Prizes are on offer for the best-dressed lady and best hat competitions, and the best-dressed winner will represent the course in a Yorkshire grand final at Doncaster on Thursday.

Smaller population in the UK,overkill in poor racing, ask the public what they think about racing and they will say"bunch of crooks"
so how come they can get thousands to the tracks? and how come the authorities in SA with a bigger population and hardly any racing in comparison fail so badly?
