Memory in Ireland at evens.
14 years 9 months ago
Good racing from Ireland today not sure if we are crossing over but fancy Memory to carry on winning ways.
Racing Post
Hannon bullish Memory can land Moyglare
STRONG SUIT sank, but the two Richards, Hannon and Hughes, will be hoping to erase the memory of their recent Curragh disappointment when the duo's 1,000 Guineas favourite defends her market position, lofty reputation and impeccable record in Sunday's Moyglare Stud Stakes.
It was three weeks ago that Strong Suit was deposed as 2,000 Guineas favourite when suffering a shock defeat at the hands of Ballydoyle's Zoffany in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes.
On this occasion, it is Memory who dips her toes into Group 1 waters having already surged to three victories, the most recent coming in the Cherry Hinton Stakes at Newmarket, where a stunning turn of foot earned her Guineas quotes of just 9-2 with Stan James.
In what will be Memory's stiffest task to date, Aidan O'Brien saddles four dangers, while Jessica Harrington, whose juvenile colt Pathfork dazzled at the Curragh last weekend, runs second favourite Laughing Lashes. Hannon, however, does not sound concerned.
"I have not seen a better two-year-old filly in England or Ireland this season," he said.
"The form of her races cannot be questioned - the two who chased her home in the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket (Soraaya and Hooray) have gone on to win the Princess Margaret and Lowther Stakes respectively - and we don't see the extra furlong being a problem as she settles so well in her races.
"Memory has grown up through the summer, but, while she is no longer so playful in the mornings, she is still a very active filly and not one you would want to turn out in a paddock for a couple of weeks. She has been absolutely flying up the gallops."
It is on the racecourse that Laughing Lashes has impressed, most notably when defeating Sunday's Ballydoyle rivals Misty For Me and Together in the Group 2 Debutante Stakes.
Harrington said: "Everything has gone well with Laughing Lashes since her last race and we're happy with her. She's as good as I can get her and deserves to be going there.
"Memory looks very good and there are other good fillies against us too, so it is really in the lap of the gods as to which filly will come out best on the day."
Also fancied in some quarters is Kissable, whose trainer Kevin Prendergast said: "She finished well when third behind Together and Laughing Lashes in the Silver Flash Stakes last time and has done well since, so we're looking forward to a good run."

I ended up parking in Morningside and walking that day. This year I will park where you told me. I am going into Edinburgh this afternoon, are you near there?
