This is a plan that I believe will work for our comp
We choose 14 players for your team. (just in case of suspensions or injuries and this makes it unique compared to all other comps)
All 14 will score you points or cost you points.
You may only have a max of 2 players in your team who play for the same club
The team formation should consist of a keeper, 4-4-2 the 3 extra players 1 a defender, 1 a midfielder and a forward.
You select a captain who will score you double points
How do you score your points?
5 points for a goal scorer
2 points for a goal assist
5 points for keeping a clean sheet (defence and keeper)
5 points if your keeper saves a penalty (even if the penalty kick hits the woodwork or goes wide or over the bar) If the keeper saves and the rebound is scored then obviously no points to the keeper
How do you drop points
You lose a point for every goal conceded (defenders and keeper)
You lose a point for a yellow card
You lose 2 points for a red
You lose a point if you miss a penalty
Amount that you can spend on your team
I will post a link that you can select your team from. Because we may have 14 players we will all come to an agreement at the time of how much we can "spend"
Transfer window
We can have a transfer window but we should restrict it to maybe 2 only until the end of August and then another window in January. Obviously we will set dates as we don't want any transfers to occur whist matches are been played.
Prizes
Depending on how many entries we have that will determined the prize money available. It would be good to have a 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th place prize plus other prizes as we go along.
Hibs is throwing in a Joa baseball cap and I am going to buy a replica shirt of the clanners choice who wins it. (we will have a draw at the end of the season with all the entrants name and draw out a name to win the shirt)
If we have enough entries then maybe we can put aside a few bucks for a monthly prize.
Finally only Premier League matches will count for points. No cup or champions league matches.
Please suggest anything else and if you think I am doing it wrong then tell me so that we can adjust etc and all be happy when we kick off.
I think that R200 for your team for a season of entertainment and interest is a fair price to pay. This will be paid by yourself into the ABC account (with Scotia's go ahead off course)

Sounds great. Just one thought. If a captain scores double points won't everybody just make their main striker Captain?

I am expecting the publication of the players and prices to come on line within the next 2 weeks then we can lay the rules down in stone and start up with our comp where there will be plenty of prizes and suprises

Scotia and Hibs have agreed that the ABC Banking account can be used for the players to deposit their entry fee for the comp which will be a very reasonable R200 for the entire season. Hoping for at least 25 to 30 players so that there will be some reasonable pay outs plus don't forget there are going to be other prizes as well

Bump
Please put your name down if you are going to enter as the players and prices will be coming out over the next week or (not those whose names are down alreafy) so then you can start thinking about your team and Dave Scott will provide banking details. Remember the more entrants the more money to be won and the more fun we will have. The season kicks off on the 16th of August and having entered in a few of these in the past, believe me it takes time to choose your players as you have to juggle with the amount you have to "spend". I will take the prices and players from the Daily Telegraph. (uk edition). As soon as they get published I will post a link and we can start entering our team. Your team will obviously be named after your user name.
