WSB and ABC sponsored T20 WC competition
9 years 3 months ago
Hi Everyone
Apologies for the other thread. This is the final change ! I PROMISE
WSB and ABC have been kind enough to sponsor this Comp. Winner will take all and we will be playing for R3000 in betting vouchers from WSB, and R500 in hard cash from ABC.. (Thank you WSB, Bob and Dave)…..
There will be 2 parts to the Competition – The first part will be run for the duration of the Super 10 leg of the tournament. For those who don’t know what that is, there is qualifying games that run for the first week, where the qualifiers will be added into the main tournament………
Part 1- (once off selection) You can post your dream team and WC winners + Best bowlers and Batsmen below.
• Select your dream team of 11 players. No more than 3 players will be allowed from any one country. Your will be required to select 4 Batsmen, 4 Bowlers 2 all rounders and a Wicket Keeper. Below is the list of teams and players aswell as the disciplines of which they will be accepted for.
• You will also be required to select who you feel the winning team will be, aswell as the Bowler of the Tournament and the Batsmen of the Tournament.
Points will be calculated as follows-
1 point for every run scored
2 points for every 4 hit
3 points for every 6 hit
-1 run for every run your bowlers concede
10 points for every wicket your bowler takes
5 points for every catch, runout and stumping
The winning team, batsmen and bowler of the tournament will be awarded 50 points each.
PLEASE NOTE, final team entries will be closed at 15h00 SA time on 15 March. Once you have selected your team, you are stuck with them until the end of the tournament. If your players get injured or the team for whom they play gets knocked out, its just bad luck…… Any entries that are edited after 15H00 on the 15 March will be discarded and deleted….
Lastly, once your team has been selected, you do not need to worry about them, as I will do the scoring for them on a daily basis after games have been played, calculations done, scores added to the daily part (PART 2) and added to the leaderboard.
Part 2- (Daily Selection)
This will be the daily thread (I will open a separate thread a couple days before kick off) where you would need to place your selections on a daily basis. This will run from the beginning of the tournament and include the qualifying stages of the tournament.
For the qualifying stage you will only be required to select the winner of the game. Once the super 10 starts on the 15th, you will be required to select the game winner as well as the highest run scorer of the game and the best bowler of the game.
Should 2 or more batsmen be tied on the amount of runs, the batsmen to face the least amount of balls will take the points. Should that also be tied, the points will be shared. The bowler with the most wickets will take the points. Should there be more than one bowler joint with the most wickets, the bowler with the least amount of runs conceded will take the points. In the event of a tie for wickets and runs, the points will be shared.
EG- India vs Sri Lanka
Team- Sri Lanka
Batsmen- Suresh Raina
Bowler – Lasith Mailinga.
Points for this will be as follows-
Winning team 10 points
Best batsmen 10 points
Best bowler 10 points
As mentioned above, these points will be added to your dream team scores and updated on the leaderboard after calculations have been done..
The supersport website will be used for all information gathered and points will be given as per the information attained from there site. Any disputes will be forwarded to the KBD (karma board of directors), where Karma will have the final word
Looking forward to a few weeks of fun and a bit of banter with some nice moola to top it off… GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE and get thinking

NB- PLEASE take note, as everyone is to select there teams from the players and their disciplines mentioned above, ALL POINTS will count. So if your bowler does bat, his runs WILL score points and visa versa should your batsmen get a bowl. Sorry for the earlier confusion!
