i backed the 2nd horse and i cant see them reversing the result but would be very happy if they did...yes rob i think his name should be shayne notsowellman

Pirates,I dont know if you remember the LAVERY objection? Similar and objection was overruled on course but reversed,on appeal,a month later.
Lavery(like The Apache) was forced to run a diagonal route and the maths is obvious.
(Overruled while posting....wonder if there will be a smilar appeal?)

In a case like this the punters and bookies settle now, but what happens to the stakes cheque if an appeal was to change the result at a later stage?

Bets are settled on the position at the declaration of "all clear to pay"
Subsequent amendments affect stakes and and horses record of wins/places,but not bets.

Yes,but the grounds for the result of the appeal remains the same.Both horses ran further than necessary but one CHOSE to and one was FORCED to...that was the key to the issue.
