It was pretty black Hibs, after what started very promisingly. Backed the first winner and caught swingers that paid R21-60in the 3rd......
After that one way traffic.
Oh well.
I'm not having a bet at the vaal tomorrow, will wait for Fairview Friday!!

tommy:
no comment on the 6-1 shot that pays under R3.00 for a tote win?

Umlilo,
I saw that but there is really no point floggin this point to death. There is obviously nothing we can do. We can complain here as much as we want. The point is Phumelela is going to do exactly what they want.
Their main source of income now is international racing/betting. Minimal outlay for maximum income!
If a Phumelela exec reads this......please address the issue with the punters?
Otherwise,I am done, Ive had it.
Good luck to the lucky number punters and may you enjoy your winnings!
btw: The horse in question yesterday is called:
Muito Amor.............translation
Welovemoney!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tommy feel you are miles of the mark when you say Phums main source of income is international racing, maybe im wrong but im sure International racing makes a up a very small percentage of their turnover..
Sure there will be some stats out there somewhere?

Hibs,
I may be wrong, but look at the facts. When you look at our pools (win, place and swingers) on a daily basis......Those pools are inflated by at least 45 to 65% (imo). This money is coming from overseas.
Look at the international racing product. When people bet into international racing (england, dubai, hong kong, singapore) there are very little expenses. No stakes to pay, no race meetings to hold, no on course staff to pay, just betting locations and telebet.
This is why I keep saying there is NO WAYS that Phumelela will Ever stop with their international product. It has become huge for them.
I think I remember going through their results about 3 months ago for last year and even though the international product was not HUGE percentage wise,it was getting there and their earnings out of the int. stuff was pretty big comparatively.
If comingling is causing such a huge headache, why just not scrap it until the systme works fine and you can explain to your clients whats going on? Why???? Because it makes them too damn much money is why!!!!!
(All the above just guess work and in no way anything else but my opinion)
