In prep for a graded race, would one gallop your 4yo feature filly with 2yo? (This is a genuine question, by the way..not my normal sarcasm)

Actually, I remember in his book De Kock says he worked 2yo Horse Chestnut with Smart Banker [correction:Smart Money..thanks below] (a graded winner) and I thought it was before HC won.

I have no idea whether it's standard practice with 2yos. Horse Chestnut was exceptional and showed it before he ever raced. However, a working companion presumably needs to be decent for the work to mean anything?

In that case, pending the outcome of the work between the two fillies, then Maureen de Lago should pay to follow right through her career? Even remain unbeaten and become as good as horse chestnut????
