HAROLD STERLEY - Peter Fabricius is one of the most fortunate race horse owner’s around. He owns Hear The Drums, who has chalked up 28 wins from 51 starts. Barring June (finished second) and September of this year (a rest of two months) this record-breaking sprinter has yielded a winning stake cheque every month between March and November.
Statistics of this nature only happen once in a lifetime and Hear The Drums looks poised to earn his 29th winning cheque on Friday at Arlington and continues to rewrite the record books each time he makes an appearance.
He shoulders 64kg today, which is no problem over the minimum trip, and looks to have the field, barring Barthez, stone cold on form. Barthez did manage to get within 0.50 lengths of him last time but is now 2kg worse off he will not have benefit of an apprentice claim.
In his favour is the expertise and strength of Brandon Morgenrood, who could more than make up for the 2kg deficit. In their latest encounter, as per usual, Hear The Drums went to the head of affairs and had to shake off the late challenge of Barthez. He did so in fine style and never looked like being passed by the runner-up.
Once again there should not be too much in it but Hear The Drums should have the class to notch up his 29th victory.
Jack Dan is the only other runner who has finished within three lengths of Hear The Drums of late. He receives 1.5kg from the top weight, which could assist in closing the gap but not enough to reverse the form.

Bulldozer to run the champ close.
3rd run after a rest, Byleveld on board, receiving 11.5kgs today,
20/1 You cant get hurt- like it back over 1000m. all the best to the champ, but value it is for me today!
Magic, the office is quiet without you, but hey the coffee is good! LOL

The 2nd race was a bit of a farce, to be polite.
