Has anyone bothered to find out what the horse tested positive for before embarking on this tirade? There is tiger juice and there is medication. One is downright cheating, the other can just be bad timing that had no impact on the horse's performance but showed up in minute amounts. Like the Japanese horse in the Arc a few years ago.

Anyone watched the program on water with james and laff..

its like this..
a smoker will test around 94% oxygen in the blood..
a non smoker will test around 98% oxygen in the blood..

hence we can cheat the insurance..
a few drops of celfood in water a few days before the insurance test..
and I pass as a non smoker..my oxygen will be at 98%...guaranteed...

the guys that still test possitive are caught because they use the old dope..
the jockey club test for the old dope..
their processes and systems are set up to test for the old dope..
their people are trained on old dope, micro biology at PUK..Potchefstroom..
and if you are caught..you are a cheat..
a cheat because you use cheap dope and cheap methods..
so..if you are poor and caught..you are a cheat..

however...
the top trainers are doing different things..
technically..measured against the jockey club current processes and systems..they are not guilty...
why..
because they have money..
they have owners that have money..
these owners won't like to be part of a doping scandal..
none of the sponsors will want a doping scandal..
based on that..
I suggest..
none of the big events are tested..
and if a rich owners (old money) horse test possitive...it's kept behind closed doors..

new nanotechnology ways...products cost money...
so, if you are rich..you are a pioneer..a hero..going places..doing good for South African Racing..putting South African Racing on the map..

its like this..need postasuim..be it me or the horses
if I am poor, I eat bananas..by the dozen
if I am rich, I get an injection..saturday 10am before the race at 2pm...

guess its time for me to take out a trainers license with my BEE partner..
everytime we test..they will find nothing...
blood they have never seen..
dna modified...
give me a D division winner 1600m and I win the July...nevermind the breeding..
the dna modification will take care of that..

send this to the prof at the jockey club...
he knows..
time to retire before the truth comes out....on this site...????

It just seems that sentence is being passed without knowing the precise nature of the offence. Sorry guys, but I'm mighty pleased that none of you is my lawyer!

That's fair enough Matthew.Presumption of innocence is what we would all want in a trial I am sure, but the punting public is tired of being cheated.

Jockeys don't punt, trainers don't dope and OJ is innocent too.One brush does admittedly not tarnish all,but we as 'racing people' constantly moan about the lack of new blood into the game, and the perception amongst the general public is that racing is crooked. The 1st question I am always asked by those who know nothing about racing is 'Don't the jockeys fix the races'.If we who are already in the game don't stand up to be counted then who will change these perceptions.

Fritz Roux may not turn out to be guilty of anything, but an examination of the betting patterns of winning horses from that stable in the last few months is certainly outside of the norm.

Fine. If he has cheated throw the book at him. But all you have here is circumstantial evidence and innuendo. It wouldn't last two minutes in a court of law.

the guy is innocent...

how can we find him guilty...

we have a good laugh when a jock get a ban for "E"....
make many jokes..
find it funny...
but nobody complained too much...
how many horses did he ride..full of "E"...and how much money did punters loose
hom many other horses are being ridden by jockeys full of "E"...or A,b,c,d,etc

and when tarry had the winning streak on clairwood..
we all backed him...
nobody complained...except the bookmakers...less 1...
he is innocent too..the trainer..and the bookmaker...

When MDK and Laird fires..
they win all the baby races and the top races...
we all keep our traps shut...

wake up...
be equal in the judgement...
if everyone else is not guilty...
guess Roux is not guilty...

Hearing - trainer Fritz Roux

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that a hearing was held at its offices in Johannesburg on Friday, 6 November 2009, to consider imposing an interim suspension of Trainer F J Roux’s license pending the finalisation of an inquiry into the presence of 16β-Hydroxystanozolol in specimens taken from the horses BAND OF BROTHERS and HIPPODROME after they raced at the Arlington Racecourse on 25 September 2009 and 9 October 2009, respectively.
An interim suspension was imposed and Trainer Roux was advised that:

1. in regard to the horses that are carded to run today in Port Elizabeth, those horses will be scratched.

2. he may nominate horses provided they shall not run at any time whilst the interim suspension is in place, which interim suspension continues until the earlier of:

2.1 the result of the DNA test, which is currently being conducted, proving negative, then the suspension will be lifted; or

2.2 the finalisation, after any appeal, of the inquiry proceedings to be conducted in regard to both the positives in respect of BAND OF BROTHERS and HIPPODROME.
