"I thought this was my best one for the day" - Striker when asked in the winners box what the rest of his card was like.

One of my own.

I know owners, jocks & trainers ( myself included ) repeat themselves time & time again - but in all fairness if Marcus / Charles laird has 5 winners on the card do you really expect them to say something DIFERENT EVERY TIME ?

Afterall, the questions posed to them are NEARLY ALWAYS THE SAME aren't they ?

I'll tell you who does throw you a curved ball every so often when doing interviews - JIMMY LITHGOW, He quite often talks about the breeding, the dam etc. it's happened to me & I know sweet stuffall about breeding. ( thank goodness my partner FRODO does )

My favourite / repeatative ? saying so often " we're over the moon with the win " Thanks to Roy, jock etc. etc.

" Ya ya know, coming to the top at the straight, the filly was travelling well, ya know Gavin ( trainer) gave me alot of confidence with this one and I already knew then that this is race over.

Coming to the 400m pole, I push the bottom and the filly responded nicely, I think she can definatly go from here and maybe pick up a few in the winter."

Thanks for the compliment Elvis; I think I know just enough to realize that I in fact know very little .... but don't worry, with your luck you don't need to know anything about breeding; just put up your hand at the sales and wait for them in the winner's enclosure!

A while back I picked up on Kannemeyer always seemed to say on USO and interviews. "this looks like a 2000 meter horse..." i used to have a good chuckle as they all seemed to be 2000 meter horses.
