Nothing wrong with Neil. There are far worse on tellytrack. Neil is a contributer to this site who uses the alias Presenter. Please, lets not chase him away just because he has made a career move to work for for Tellytrack. He may even be able to represent us and make the changes we seek.
Have to agree with one aspect of the original post and that is the personal jokes and banter. It is anoying and they are all guilty of it.

so in a nutshell, what is it that UK and USA race presenting has that Tellytrack doesn't? informed presenters that engage the audience with relevant information - good lighting - catchy continuity fillers?

don we can moan and groan all we want but nothing will change as they have the monopoly..maybe its the pay that is poor who knows but use the mute button as most do.i just hope neil p doesnt fall for nicos shit ,,what amazes me is since he has started he phones trainers during the week for comments..why wasnt this done before by the current presenters or is this a new invention...the mediocrity continues

bad leadership and poor expectations i suppose - i'm sure it can be as good as racing uk if a bit of initiative was used.

There is a need for a bit of capital investment. The equipment on course seems antiquated and is in dire need of an upgrade. The camera at the 14/1600 at Greyville tranmits a green picture and is probably on its last legs.
As I've said before we need someone with a pair of brass ones to rival this channel.

Suppose if the started charging r300 a month like ruk on top of your normal digital subscription they would be able to "match" RUK? In the Uk i pay £50 per month for digital tv and Ruk on top would be an extra £20 which works out at over R900 PER MONTH? Today in the UK there was 3 meetings on RUK market rasen, york and sandown..none of which are shown on ATR(racing channel included in the sky package)so today in the uk they are showing french racing until this evening when they are showing Irish racing
Both the uk satelite racing channels have suffered in the past through buisiness costs and both have been in administration and re invented them selves, people have to be relistic and realise the cost at running such channels..ps ATR survives through constantly showing adverts from the minute a race finishes until a new race goes off(with no chance to see horses going to post etc),RUK survive by charging their customers a monthly charge..

Leadership is the key and SA racing is akin to a ship of gold, champagne and caviar adrift on the seven seas with no captain.
Lots of sailors are enriching and gorging themselves and have pretensions - wannabee captains - but little talent and certainly no sea dogs
.
I still say Shaheen Shaw is different league -he is a punter to his core - emotion and information is fed at speed - nothing better when Im in the PA and Shaheen says 'the bomb has dropped.' - at least we know he is accurate and even his Joey Ramsden digs are funny.
Neil Pretorius is just not my cuppa - his tipping of every single Harold Crawford horse is reminiscent of the days he and Des Mclachlan were buddies . Then he blows smoke up Stan Elleys rear when Stan has a winner - As punters we want onbjective opinion and information - not sentimental bull designed to do a bit of free PR for mates of his. Grant Knowles is the king of that anyway.

The problem with T Track is that it runs as a service to betting rather than a TV channel. It therefore does note generate independant income. Independant of the operators.
Lets face it this is not a tv channel

alcaponee i agree but would it not generate more turnover if a.they just showed the race from wherever and not them at the start at the cart racing while they going down in cape town or molly isn doing a preview..do we have to see a slow motion replay from ngong or zim or PONTEFRACHT..JUST SHOW THE DAMN RACE FROM THESE CENTRES and put all your tv time on local racing..thats just for starters
