Re: TURFFONTEIN SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2025

I had a pretty good week punting wise, where most horses ran as I expected - hopefully I can keep the trend going. Despite 6 of the 8 races not being handicaps - I find it pretty competitive - thoughts ...
R1: The Khumalo and v Vuuren combo has been quite lethal, so I expect the trend to continue with Banyan - looks useful and the form of his maiden win has been good; this is a handicap however, and his rating of 90 may be a bit high; still the competition does not look that impressive - handicappers in their place while some might prefer 1200
R2: Strongish looking Middle Stakes, where it should be fought out between the top 3 on the boards. TwentyTwentyVision should be suited by the fast conditions and has pole position; Passage of Power under the in-form apprentice could throw a spanner in the works if he brings his best
R3: Field has cut up to 5 runners, but none of them could be safely ignored for P6 purposes; Vesuvio looks well weighted, but may not be suited by the track, so could easily run first, or last
R4: Gimmeachoice has strucked form and should be right there again; Eiger Sanction has impressive stats under Yeni, and could prove the main danger, while Street Art has dropped in the ratings from 110 to 85, and can upset, but I would have thought the extra help in the weights from an apprentice would help
R5: Everything points to King's Express - good form this track and trip and the 4kg apprentice allowance would not hinder (best-weighted column does not take the allowance into reckoning, so very well weighted); however he looks quite a troublesome individual and perhaps Fire and Flames could excel this distance, but I doubt it
R6: Another Khumalo and V Vuuren combo that seems hard to beat; according to the ratings, Poblano is only 0,5 kgs out with Bjorn Ironside but he might need it; the filly Mystical Miss could be anything
R7: I think quite competitive; Paul Revere is my first choice, pole position and should not be hindered by the extra 200m; I have given up on Max, especially over 1600, but he might come and bite me; Master Christmas best form at the Vaal, but he has a good draw and should challenge; only Daimyo could be safely ignored as he seems better further and should need the run
R8: The stable seems confident that Parisian Walkway is past this probelms, so should be right there; he does have to give talanted filly Cocomelon 10 kgs, but she should be needing more ground; biggest danger imo could be Pumkin Pie from pole position, while Dance King does not look out of it on form
Enjoy

How the hell did Banyan not finish 2nd - I was not even worried, but somehow Don'tShootTheBarman got up (according to the result) to finish 2nd - where is the photo ?
