If a points system is used, it should be based on grading of races but also the quality of the field beaten as indicated by eg. average rating of field...where possible...some races eg some of the Gtg features, should not have their lofty gradings...

For what it's worth the Horse of the Year Category has to go to a horse that has won a Gr1 in all 3 major centres of SA.
Great horses like Sea Cottage, Politician, Sentinel, Model Man, Wolf Power, Free my Heart, Foveros, Empress Club, Enchanted Garden and a few others come to mind.
