........with all the lack of electricity have let my month to month sub lapse....simply did not leave enough airtime in the Vodacom acc that pays this....when the power is more stable at month end will switch and go prepaid to get next 3 months for the price of 2 ....this way will wait until all the episodes are down loaded and binge them....the problem with Showmax and other streaming services is that the content is not added fast enough and taking a break every now and then saves a few bob....the few hours that are normally available for viewing normally after a days racing is spent checking YouTube clips until the power goes out again....:S .

If you have DSTV premium, Showmax is free.

....I dumped that over priced expense over 3 years ago...and maybe if my financial advisor had not loaded my pension preserver nest egg with Steinhoff shares I would not be in a position where I would not have to cut corners in my old age.....

The late John Lithgow was going to make a movie about Sea Cottage and he approached ABC for clansmen to volunteer. I gave him my statistics and he said “ok cool, I can be the bodyguard”, lol.

You are lucky Mac, Jimmy wanted me to play Sea Cottage

They phoned me up asking if I'll play me in the role of the guy Brugerman wouldn't let in the lift when him a little boy and only one other person was in it, when uncle George came round the corner the stairs were out out of the question. Punting was easier back then, your horse always ended up loading last too, I remember when they first got into the game, the steinhof colors, we were at a function they attended, told us Hinterland won't be beaten, stoated in

Dear Dave,

SA business’s favourite future jailbird, Markus Jooste, might reside in a Hermanus mansion, but he doesn’t really live in the town. Locals tell me the former Steinhoff CEO occasionally sneaks out in disguise (hat, scarf, sunglasses) for a morning coffee. Sometimes they get the odd glimpse of his Bentley 4x4 (yes, there is one.) But even those rare sightings are about to dry up.

Last Thursday Showmax flighted the first episode in a three-part mini-series on Jooste, based on Rob Rose’s best-selling book Steinheist. It is sure to convert the last few souls who persist in giving the fraudster any benefit of the doubt. The channel is staggering the release with fresh episodes available this Thursdays and next.

Jooste never hid that Rose was his least favourite journalist. His antipathy is sure to multiply. Rose tells a really good story, excelling in his narrating role, using advantages of the medium to great effect. It is impossible for anyone who watches to misunderstand what went down. Or to be bemused why Jooste isn’t behind bars.

I had high hopes for the project after some personal interaction with executive producer Richard Finn Gregory and his team. But you never really know until you witness it in final form. It surpasses my expectations: a truly world class production, brilliantly applying the compelling content. Riveting viewing. Even for those who never owned Steinhoff shares.

Best,
Alec

OTA,

You probably right if we rely on the state to prosecute. I think private prosecution may be a whole different ball game.

The Big Man from Nkaaandlaa, who captured majority the organs of state, had to spend a few nights behind bars - surely there must be a glimmer of hope if the German authorities take the lead.

The SA state prosecution team will undoubtedly be challenged and would need a lifetime to get up to speed with basics of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and corporate restructures. Also, let's not forget that Jooste smokkeled some of the brightest minds in corporate SA that sat on his Board of Directors and his ultimate smokkel was his bff Christo Wiese that he converted overnight from being a $ billionaire into a $ millionaire.

The best way to compare a German prosecution team to the SA state prosecution team is to visualise the funeral proceedings of the Queen last Monday that was conducted with such precision from Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle - and then replace the with our beloved SAPS and SANDF marching and spearheading the proceedings!! Yoh.....a sight that can haunt for ever and a day.

lots more about horse racing in second episode - is there a forensic investigator clever enough to get this bloke?

if you want to watch something even more unbelievable, check out "Waarheid with Max duPreez" (English subtitles)

We forget so much don't we? Although there was no real new revelations it was interesting to go down this road again. You have to wonder how a weasel like Jooste pulled the wool over so many eyes in the corporate environment. He sounds like a proper Danville special - how was he taken seriously?

The racing domain conveniently forget about how he was allowed to absolutely dominate the arena. I have seen nobody condemn him for what he did here. Alec Hogg probably one of the Jooste admirer club poster boys now sings a different tune. I remember his infamous "Barbarians at the gate" piece, describing the Concerned Owners attempt at overthrowing the RA. Dave Scott you should write more about this. Hogg conveniently forgets he sat alongside Jooste on both the RA and Phumelea boards whilst Jooste called the shots. Hogg claims he had numerous clashes with Jooste while on the Phumelela board. What nonsense, he was a brownnoser of note.

Lets not forget the history.

Astonished how his not in jail .His also wanted by the Germans. Best part was how he was involved in "Billion" pound/dollar deals.
