c) Jockey A Marcus appeared before the Board and was afforded the opportunity to place on record any factors that could have contributed to the poor performance of YATA. In this regard, Jockey A Marcus could provide no explanation for the disappointing performance other than to suggest that this filly may prefer further in future. In view of YATA (5.90 lengths, 56/100 in the betting) performing below market expectations, the Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.
why do they only ask the Jockey? The trainer has more to do with the fitness of a horse than any rider...if the horse missed work, had a temp 3 days ago, heat in a joint...endless... any stipe worth that title should be able to see if a jockey did something wrong in a race so what is the emphasis on jockey opinion instead of the trainer

The jockey did nothing wrong. If you go back and look, the trainer has a very bad statistic on short priced favorites over the last 20 years. A friend of mine doubled up in bipod int that race as they get beat more often than winning. Maybe he overcooks them.
