UK RACING TODAY FRIDAY.
16 years 8 months ago
Good morning to the CLAN
Racing from Newbury, Newmarket and Ayr
Frankie should win the first at Newbury on Huntdown and it looks like a good day for the favs? Multidimensional, Palavincini and Invisible Heart can all go close.
At Newmarket with a SA presence can see Midday and Summers Target both arrive?
good punting!
scotia
DON'T FORGET ROYAL VINTAGE IS RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!

Dave URGENT what is the draw advantage over 6f @Ayr on Heavy going mate?!?
I have been given a 'live' one by the same guy who tipped me up 'Ask The Butler' the other month.
He will be E/W backable too!
Jim.

No advantage, here is some detail Jim
Friday, September 19
1.09pm
Conditions to test Hey Up Dad . . .Michael Dods admitted the testing conditions were a worry for his promising two-year-old Hey Up Dad, who is a big fancy for the opening 7f maiden (2.20pm) after an encouraging debut, and warned that he sees the juvenile as more of a long-term prospect.
"He is a nice horse and ran well at Haydock," the trainer said.
"It is a bit of a concern running him on this ground, you wouldn't know if he will handle it.
"This will probably be his last run of the season, I think he is more of a three-year-old - we will run him here and whatever he does we will probably put him away."
12.07pm
No advantage . . .Ahead of the Silver and Gold Cups, Neil Callan has backed clerk of the course Katherine Self's view that there is no advantage in the draw on the sprint track at Ayr.
"I don't think there is a bias," the jockey said.
"After riding there on Thursday it is just heavy all over, all that matters is where the pace will be."
11.48am
Bottom-weight fears . . .Peter Grayson admitted he is wary of the bottom-weights as he looked ahead to saddling the fancied Regal Royale in the 5f handicap (2.55).
His sprinter is officially 1lb well-in under a 6lb penalty, having been put up 7lb for winning at Folkestone last week and the trainer said: "He won't be scared of the soft ground and he is in good form.
"But I amworried about the two at the bottom, Prince Namid and Killer Class - we are giving him nearly a stone and that is a lot of weight in this ground."
10.50am
Market movement . . .Pricewise's two picks in the Ayr Silver Cup have both been attracting early money this morning.
The Ralph Beckett-trained Mullein was tipped at 10-1 with William Hill, who have now been forced to cut his price to 15-2 - with Paddy Power an Stan James offering just 7-1.
Harrison George was advisedat 12-1 and is now quoted as short as 9-1 with VC Bet.
With Signalman pulled out of the 2m1f handicap at 5.45, Ladbrokes have shortened favourite Los Nadis's odds from 2-1 into 13-8, with Sphinx 3-1 (from 4-1) and Dr Sharp 4-1 (from 9-2).
10.16am
Ground and weather. . . Ground conditions remain officially heavy for the second day of the Ayr Gold Cup meeting.
A total of 4mm of rain fell overnight, and drizzle greeted early arrivals at the track this morning.
The rain is expected to clear before racing and clerk of the course Katherine Self said: "We have moved the rail out on the bottom bend to provide fresh ground."
Non-runner updates . . . The Nifty Fox was declared for two races this afternoon but has been pulled out of the 5f handicap (2.55) and is set to take his chance in the Ayr Silver Cup (4.40).
The Magic Of Rio misses the Harry Rosebery Stakes (4.05) while Solis is out of the 1m handicap (5.15) and Signalman has been withdrawn from the (5.45).
