Defies Logic jumped out well, was on a smooth forward trajectory, probably to sit one out. As this horse is heading forward, jock decides to pull this horse back, against all of its momentum. Horse continues to fight against that, jockey pulls harder. No positional awareness as well, pulling the horse back to slot in, when there is no room to slot in. This is not an issue, because sometimes you get unlucky, but really, why would you stop all a horse's momentum to pull it back into the field.

Reason I ask this question is a topic the other day Durbs mentioned the workriders always giving their all to win, and then you see things like this. There are no repercussions for pathetic rides like this for these jocks. They will get their riding fee and onto the next ride.

That is why I wonder if the instructions were to come from behind...I saw the same as what you describe, and while it was a poor ride overall and unlucky to boot...we don't know what the riding instructions were...

horses that are caught wide have no chance...so will have to factor it in (even more so today)

Just look at how Spring Fling wins at 36-1
2 Spring Fling 33.00 30.00 33.00 30.00 33.00 40.00 50.00 36.00
Hasn't run a place since the 10th November 2019 and today he wins with lengths in hand.
But don't worry the trainer will surely have a valid explanation and as always our stipes will accept whatever he has got to say.

If you had watched the interviews after race 2 you would have seen Dillon tip purple and gold and East Cost Star. Humby then confirmed that purple and gold next best to win and that they were teaching defies logic to race. He said that Dillon does not want the horse to go hell for leather and wanted to teach him to race properly.

RACE 8
East Coast Star last run was shocking.
Previous run at Pmb also not good.
I think the coupling the 5 horse will be a big improver
Hopefully the jockey Danielson thinks so too.
