Good card - a few hotties interspersed with competitive handicaps - going imo should tend to the softer side of good as there has been overnight rain following on the rain during the week; thoughts:

R1: Roha being backed as if the result is a foregone conclusion; I'm not convinced; I do fancy the Matchett runners and went for the one that Bling is riding - which probably means the other one will win

R2: Should lie between Godswood, Bartholdi and Battle Force; I went for the latter as it is drawn towards the stand side

R3: Again it seems to lie between 4 runners; the form does not seem that great, so I went for Castle Corner who may settle better without the blinkers and Nartjie needs to improve by more than 6 lengths to match him

R4: On form for me Ecstatic Green stands out a bit - I think she is better than her rating, drawn on the stand side, so has a lot in her favor imo; Gallic Princess has to give her 8.5 kgs, which should prove difficult; I thing both Double o' Eight and Che Bella could place.

R5: Good sprint; obvious two are Eden Roc and Bohica; Down to Zero the value at these weights, while others like Mardi Gras (won this last year) Invidia and Bold Ransom seem best of the rest, while Wonderwall could upset if it gets real wet

Mount Pleasant went out to as high as 7/10 this morning, what do these bookies know that we don't see on paper

The form of this second race looks suspect to me and the top two are far too short in my opinion. That race won by Paisley Park the field was weak as hell .... Apache Trail need not be anything special to trouble them up front.

R6: One-horse race on paper; for me the only one that could beat him, is the stable mate Al Muthana; any of MK's Pride, Fire and Ice, Flying Carpet, Winter Stories or Catch Twenty Two for the places

R7: Real tough handicap where more than half the field have realistic chances; Pack Leader my first choice, but the value imo is Tristful as there is very little between them on earlier form; Summer Pudding imo real tough task as this is a handicap and she has to give weight away to some very capable runners (also to Victoria Paige, who on previous form has SP held) ; Astrix needs to prove he stays the trip, but with Charles, Christopher Robin, Tree Tumbo, Cornish Pomodoro all have the credentials; Atyaab interesting - will probably finish in the second half of the field, but surely not a 100/1 shot imo

R8: Everything points to War of Athena, a lot of tough recent racing the only negative for me; Queen Supreme I believe is being aimed at bigger things; dangers could be the in-form Saragon, Rio's Winter and Magic School, while Christmas Flower may be a lot better than rated

R9: Who will stay ? Not a lot between the top 4 in the betting, while Shenanigans keeps on dropping in the ratings, and could be competitive of this mark; Dromedaris has proven he stays and could upset

R10: Tough handicap to close; most with chances, but I think King's Archer is the value - has dropped to a competitive mark; biggest danger for me is Dan the Lad, but none of the others can be safely ignored

Enjoy B)

I just cannot have this Ecstatic Green ... if it wins I shall have egg on face and be tearing up my P6 ticket.

I like Gallic Princess, Mount Laurel, Pool Party and Che Bella

Oh Tarry not doing too well so far and then the obvious banker trained by De Kock who we never know what type of run we will get from his horses lately.
