Sizzling Punter Challenge

Entrants moving up the overall leader board without any further meetings occurring. Can Hollywoodbet explain this.... Yesterday Oscar was second and today he is third.... what's going on.... strange....

We ran an audit on the results before publishing the winners and awarding them.

We found there were issues were points weren't awarded correctly on three races. It happened on the following:

Meeting Sunday 8th March 2020

Race 2
There was a dead heat for 5th. But for some reason horses 1, 6, 9 were all given 7 points.
The points were then reassigned as:

5th - 8.5 pts - Leslies Pathtofame (6)
5th - 8.5 pts - Kingston Rock (9)
7th - 7 pts - Bridge Of Spies (1)

Meeting Sunday 15th March 2020

Race 4
This horse Queens' Plain (3) was given zero points instead of 8 points.

Race 5
This horse Gentleman's Wager (5) was given zero points instead of 9 points.

We have now corrected the points on the system, and the scoreboard is now reflecting correctly.

Shailendra Hariram (also known as Vivtor) is the official winner of our first-ever Hollywoodbets Sizzling Punters’ Challenge!

This longtime Hollywoodbets account holder was thrilled to learn that he is now R20 000 richer courtesy of his predictions over the past weeks. Second-place winner Amith Pheku collects R12 000 while, in third place, Asgar Essack pockets R7 000!

The challenge had to be wrapped up a bit earlier in compliance with the nationwide lockdown that was announced by President Rampahosa earlier in the week in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. This win could not have come at a better time for Shailendra who plans to use these much-needed funds to help pay for his daughter’s university fees.

Shailendra believes consistency is of utmost importance and studied the form carefully before making his selections. He is also a keen Lucky Numbers player, so feels that a little luck can go a long way. He therefore based his first selection on his lucky number no. 12 (which happened to be Cool Runnings). Overall Shailendra feels that this was a great initiative by Hollywoodbets that has added an exciting dimension to horse racing in KwaZulu-Natal and he complimented them on investing back into the sport of horse racing.

Additionally, Hollywoodbets is donating the amount of R5 125 that will be split between the National Horse Care Unit and the Coastal Horse Care Unit that both do important work caring for equines who need it most (including retired race horses). They are making this contribution to these organisations thanks to the accumulated winnings earned by the Hollywoodbets and tabGOLD team members who also took part in the challenge!

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from the public with 13 055 entrants taking part in the challenge Hollywoodbets has decided to reboot this challenge as soon as normal horse racing returns. Keep an eye on our social media platforms or Sporting Post for more details in the coming weeks!
