Bob the Bull Brand Trial was an insignificant event, nothing like the Bull Brand Jockeys International which brought visiting jockeys to Scottsville Racecourse to ride for the day, the main event was for 3 years olds over 1600m.
Jockeys like Lester Piggot, Pat Eddery, Wee Willie Carson, Yves St Martin, Fernando Toro, Greville Starkey, Cash Asmussen etc competed with our top jockeys in the event.
The cover picture shows Lester Piggot posing on one of owner Basil Hersovs horses, it could be Abbey Boy the top sprinter or maybe Ace of Spades, horses that were trained by his relative Fred Rickaby
The colours on two of the other horses look like belonging to the Ellis brothers of Hartford Stud, that's the Green and black, and the Red sleeves and diamonds look like the Laurie Jaffee colours.

The duke, Camp Sailor was one of the sire Boot Camp's progeny and started at big odds over 20/1 that day.
I remember our Michael Roberts winning with L'attaque for Pmb trainer
Brian Cunningham one year.
