Imo - both opinions have some merit; yes the filly may be over-rated; but still the jock got the pace wrong - but maybe he was riding to instructions

Can't always be the horse, there has to be a reason why a champion jockey is having to go to Flamingo Park to get rides.
He obviously has the skill but trainers don't seem to trust him as much anymore.

Imo, 80% of the time it is the horse, 15 % of the time it is just pure bad luck, and 5% of the time it is the jock - even the best of them make mistakes (we are all human after all) - but the top guys make less mistakes than the rest

Horses makes fools of all of us.

Nothing is a certainty on paper.

Yesterday for example, Sugar Girl and Whiskey Road. Whiskey Road was 16kgs worse off and still won!!!!

2yos can improve leaps and bounds within runs. Most of the them dont carry their 2yo form into their careers. The winner of the last at Gauteng ,no rating was given in the race card as it was a 2yo Maiden. I am waiting anxiously to see what rating will be shown for Frosted Gold in the race card, thats if it shown. In South Africa only if a 2yo runs in a handicap then only a rating is given.

Although a 2yo race, on Saturday in Newbury, UK, Ventura Rebel had a rating of 107 but got beaten by a horse rated 75 in a sales race into 4th. The horse that beat Ventura Rebel in a Grade 2 in the run before that, A'Ali, won a Grade 2 in France the next day.
