....how quickly do we forget about Grant Van Niekerk who is now regularly in the money and has the attention of many trainers there already.....Aldo even though breaking the ice on his 1st day still has to get rides outside of the Millard stable(who is having a much better season) if he is going to catch Grant who is currently in 10th place with 22 wins from 302 rides with and excess of HK$30BAR stakes so far...:huh:

....and the reason they go there is for the stakes....take GVN earnings so far at a conservative 5% of stakes after expenses is equivalent to ZAR2.6BAR and he is only scoring/earning in the non feature average racing days like today....I think that Aldo 2 wins today earned him in the region of HK1.573BAR total stakes and a conservative 5% converted to ZAR136K for his cut...not too bad for a days work.....:whistle:

I know you qualified your calcs by saying "conservative", but you'd have to be conservatively naive to believe that, even conservatively, they are getting 5% of the winning stake...

,,,,found an article online that says they get 10% of winning rides and only 5% of place stakes....so even being ultra conservative say 5% after tax and expenses....that is still a lot of the chop from these stakes....so if Domeyer does not have an agent and is being hosted by Millard...he got a clean ZAR272K today and will have to spar with the taxman when he gets back....:blink:

It makes me so happy that Aldo got the chance and is doing great. I am so happy for Andy in particular as he has really done something great for his family by giving his very talented son a good chance in life which is so tough.
