Catsmug

Agreed maybe not the best example (just sort of jumped at me because it won so easily this week); I am sure if I put my mind ot it, I can find many more relevant examples; I guess the point is be objective and know what you are trying to achieve and try to make your decisions more with the head and less with the heart. I would not mind feeding a horse like Upendi (if she is sound and injury free) as she may well win a couple more. And that's one of the reasons why I keep feeding Skipping Home.

JD, point well illustrated, so yes if you are looking for the 100+ horse, get out if it doesn't show after 2 runs, if you are looking for something to feed carrots at the stable and go and watch at the track for the next 2 years, with the possibility of only cracking a single win, hang on a while longer? And who knows, you may still find the 100+ horse next year?

Catsmug,

Misread the race in which you quoted Upendi; I would also get rid of that one!

Mostly agreed, Catsmug, however have to point to the following example (exception to the rule, I agree); I was part owner in a filly called Tapping Ginger, she ran 42 lenghts behind first time out, 8 lengths behind second time out, and then won her 3rd start; also won another after that.So would you have got out after the 2nd start?

Agree on the statement about being fed bullshit. One has to be realistic about what you have (or don't have!)

For Cuckoo and Cat - Dr Vivendi r3 turfs - Modus - Dolpour(Sadlers Wells) big improvement second jump 1600m - not sure how yours is bred but i really think he will produce 1600m - 2400m horses at three as long as he gets SWells mares(Northern Dancer mares in general) - i will never write of any Prospector sire (have even had to eat hunble pie over Manaloj) - i hope i'm right and yours turns out to be a classic three-year-old type

Best news i've heard cat - give him a chance - at least a sprint and a try over 1600m then make up your mind - what's three extra months in the big picture - the blood is on your side so perhaps you must just revue his ped again - remember i'm a tiny owner so i need two-year-olds to race perhaps a bit of patience might be rewarded with a classic/ground pedigree (i'm also very selfish and i don't want the little lucky girl to have all the pressure to bear those famous colours!!!)
