Not that Warren Kennedy is a bad jockey just that Gavin Lerena had his better placed and Warren was that length or two out his ground I think.
Okes lost big time.
So it had nothing to do with the horse being better / fitter ?

Just my opinion was that Coyote Girl was 3 or 4 lengths behind Gavin's horse and when asked for her effort she made up the ground quickly to get right along side Ilha Da Varlette but couldn't sustain her run right to the line as no horse can just keep on quickening forever.
A little bit closer in the running and she might have gone right past the winner but maybe the winner was waiting for company and had plenty in reserve.
For me where Gavin had his horse in the running compared to where Warren was,won him the race.
I'm no expert that's for sure but that's the way I saw it.

.....but was it a true 1800m.... being on an inside track and at a sedate pace......out at the Vaal maybe a few yard too far....

Yip, I think Lyle was also a bit worried about the trip, so it seemed there was no real pace - one race where that sectional timing could have proved worthwhile

....not here to brag....the course switch played into my bag....the local boys that did not have to travel and then finding the goods was rather trivial....but alas I'm still very sad....the racing operator has overly neglected our local tracks.....and that is very BAD.....I'm so f@cking depressed by this whole f@cking mess !!!!!

R1: Early money points to Palace Chapel ..... who knows
R2: Coyote Girl tough to beat - only danger apparently the Woodruff filly
R3: Very tough - field race imo
R4: Jamra keeps on winning since ridden from the front; obvious chance again; Being Fabulous to make her run
R5: Tough again
R6: Maiden handicap - brings runners like Elathan and Toungue Twister into the race
R7: Maiden fillies handicap - hot favorite no value especially at the weights; Cojimar my fancy
R8: Seventh of June from Trip to Paradise
Enjoy
Ok Tammany Hall dropped me in the dwang, but Cojimar saved my bacon
