Good strong Day’s racing!
Race 1:
Soqrat should win the first now with the scratching of Epic Dream, don’t think the Woodruff first timer is good enough first up. Over reaction due to Secret Potion being a decent horse of the yards that has succeeded. Place value is probably Cyber Special.
Race 2:
Nafaayes won really well on debut but this race looks tougher, Sweet Res will have learnt a lot from first outing and will improve, Cloudbreak is sure to have strengthened and has running brave held. Crimson Royal can only improve but beat a weak field latest. Cloudbreak looks the value play.
Race 3:
Naafer enjoys a class drop but I won’t be taking evens. Down To Zero a worthy challenger and gets my vote. Ouro could give them something to think about with the claimer on her back.
Race 4:
Stunning race with all of Abashiri, Liege and Secret Potion seemingly having July tune ups therefore I’m not too keen on either of them although they will be making late headway. Will Pays looks a good thing at first glance and commands respect at what I’d say is a juicy price. Zouave has a chance and bigger perms include Finchatton.
Race 5:
A tough race this! Al Danza has all the credentials but once again is prepping for KZN and won’t be cut in half here. Simply Royal has the class but has question marks too. Desert Rythm will need to confirm her latest run. Mrs O and Dame Eleanor still seem unexposed and could be improving here. Mrs O would be my selection each way but a race that one should go wide in exotics.
Race 6:
Subtle force could take some beating here. Holds Arte and put up a really good run latest. Live in Love tries the distance and I think could be a huge runner. Beaten by Barbie doll who ran another cracker this week. Tundra Taita appeals of the others, not much else.
Race 7:
A good competitive Group 3! Tilbury Fort all the rage but the draw a concern. I would oppose with Yakeen, Social Order and Deo Juvente. Yakeen is on the up and needs to win this, Social Order has proven his class and Deo Juvente seems to be on the right path according to Woodruff. If pressed for 1, it would be Social Order.
Race 8:
Tortola and Mambo Model for me. Tortola had excuses last run and with a good 4 claim has a serious chance. Mambo Model seems to have a bit still to come and could run away with this lot. Big Myth unexposed and needs inclusion in exotics but preffer the first 2.
Race 9:
Incredibly tricky last race. Gift of the Gap would be my choice if not coming from a bad draw. Was beat by the draw latest and could suffer the same feat here. Shadow man looks inconsistent but commands respect from and in form stable. Mogok’s Time has a shout too coming back to the outside track and is a tentative pick. Could include many more including Go Ballistic and Civil Dissobedience.

Glanced through the card - Dame Kelly, Arte, Social Order / Tilbury Fort all look good

Race 1: I took the 10/1 on Epic Dream yesterday- pity its scratched. The favourite now looks hard to oppose after an excellent debut. Affranchi is a decent sort and should enjoy the step up in trip, but the trip to Scottsville and back just 2 weeks ago a concern. Bien Venue will also relish the extra ground and even though 3kg swing, still looks held by Soqrat. Cyber Special has been round the turn and is useful, but has had a busy season. Royal Italian should also prefer the extra. Louis the 7th did not improve on his good debut, and maybe the Nursery came a bit soon after that run. The first timer would have to be something special to win against this field on debut, so i will go with those with experience.
Race 2: Looks more open than the betting suggests. Cloud Break has strong form and the plum draw. Sweet Red good debut and draw and the 3kg brings her into the picture. Nafaayes a good debut but a bit short in the betting. Crimson Royal has done nothing wrong. Running Brave won well this trip last time.
Race 3: Naafer is the one to beat but no value in the price. Visuality ran no sort of race in Durban, but on best form and with the 4kg claim is well in at the weights. Down to Zero has not been disgraced in top company and must be respected. Ouro is on the up and could surprise.
Race 4: She’s a Giverseemsback to best and I think is the one to beat. Will Pays in top form and course and distance suited, and will fight it out. Zouave still improving.
Race 5: Al Danza looks too strong here, but a concern is that the trainer said that she is prepping here. She was my banker before his comments, and she is still first choice. Dressed to Impress and Saragon are improving 3yo’s and could be worth including.
Race 7: Yakeen is the one to beat, although not much between him and Tibury Fort on a line through Pilou. RomanyPrince has solid form but the appie does not get hisclaim as this is a feature race. Wind Chill and Social Order also solid form. Deo Juvente has been off form for a while, but positive comments from the trainer this morning and he is well in here at best. Elevated off the track for six months and has just had one sprint back. Is well down in the ratings and could surprise if returning to his best.
Race 8: An open maiden - all of 1,2,3,4,10,12 have chances- preference for Tortola
Race 9: Again nothing stands out from 1,2,3,5,11,13,14, although Ebony Rush May be the right one.

Deo Juvente finally in a race that he can win, was outclassed in every race, I think today he will show a lot more.

Race 3 - Alwahsh looked in need of it last run but would need to step up on ratings. I think has improvement to come.
Race 7 - Yakeen is looking for this distance and likes the course.

Ouro at the weights
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.
