Tricky card today- overcast and cool and we are all hoping for a bit of rain later. Course still very hard and fast.
Race 1: Some nice first timers to consider. European Roller two fair runs but too short at 13/10.
Race 2: Northern Corner likes this track and I think that he can beat Phelan Lucky at the weights.
Race 3: Miss Smarty Pants is overdue her maiden win but I can’t have her at odds on. Hello Summer and Vase have not gone on after their good debuts, but could pop up. Strawberry Fire returns from a break and is bred for further but could beat a field like this. Snow Goose makes her debut. She shows good speed but will need the experience.
Race 4: Very open handicap. Sequined won nicely last time and could follow up. Above Eleven is a couple of kilos better off with her for two lengths and has draw 1 so should be right there. Cape Charlotte has consistent form this track. Double Black has not gone on from good debut but had excuses last time. Evies Light off form lately but very well in at the weights.
Race 5: The well exposed horses are moderate, so perhaps the answer is to look at the lightly raced improvers like American Landing, Parade of Nations, Unrivalled and Studio Blues.
Race 6: Another very open race. Floating on Water looks good ew value at 14/1 if he stays the trip. Piracy is distance suited and a decent price at 8/1.
Race 7: Love of my Life is the one to beat from a nice draw. Believethisbeauty poor last two but should not be still a maiden. Oloye went close last time but wide draw today. Pick n Choose flew late last time and from a nice draw should be right there. Pumpkin Queen and Blue Flower have some ability.
Light as a Feather was outpaced as expected on debut- she is bred to go a trip and we expect significant improvement today but likely to still need a run or two to strengthen up.
Race 8: Another tough one. Gimme a Cohiba was not given the best of rides last time and could again finish in front of Chatuchak, but very little between these two. Meliora is still improving and could go in again. Plenty with chances.

I think Marshall has enough babies who have run to know what's good and very good. This morning he was very bullish to the point that he said it's a very good horse that will run at them. Only the quick course may catch him up.

Given the views of Grant Knowles this morning....he wasn't listening to his co owned horse being beat. Instead he said that top 2 in the betting can be played with in exactas..etc

Dancing for Rain may well win by a few.....I'm all in on this one..may even take a double with Miss Smarty Pants in the 3rd race.

Not the straightest of rides by MJ but don't think it would have beaten either of the Bass first timers.
