Benevolent... when you buy into one of the hospitality packages @ about R 2,000 pp and upwards, it quite often includes a complimentary bar.
that is house wines, local beer or cider... Normally sparkling wine & spirits are NOT included as COMPLIMENTARY.
So go for it.... have 20 beers throughout the day & that should be equivalent to R 500 but bear in mind you've spent about R 2,500 per ticket.
Enjoy.... it's a costly event to be seen at.
Normally NO BOOKMAKERS in the tents, but TOTE YES, u may have to walk a few 100 meters or so to find a Betting World or Hollywood - depending who is on course.

Thanks for confirming, just wanted to know what to expect. Agreed, it is rather pricey exercise but going with a group of friends who want to have an "experience" blah, blah.
For me the thrill is the racing and the whole parade ring to canter past and feverish hustle to get bets on.
Also watching as everyone tries to squeeze into the limited seating surrounding the parade ring. While I make my way around the back and find a perfectly shady spot on the other side. Ahh, the joy.
Thanks again for the confirmation on the hospitality set-up.
