Ill lead

I think its disgusting that this has been copied and reproduced. I feel for David and will always be grateful for his contributions to South African horse racing.

I will also support (as i have done) in any way to assist him on getting back on his feet.

My Daddy always told me " even if you do something wrong do it properly" this is WRONG and not including David shows a lack of panache , style and ultimately respect.

You have Uber and Lyft,
You have Whats App and We Chat,

Similar type of application/product, different owners.

If you don't have a patent or copyright of your product, you at the mercy of others. You got to feel for the person who came up with the original concept. In this case Mr Safi.

I see very little similarities with form grids, in fact I wouldn't be able to use that service off my quick preview of it.

Surely it is understood that there are only so many ways that racing form can be presented, all these services present the exact same data - it is inevitable that there will be similarities with subtle variances.

My opinion may not be very favorable but Formgrids was a great tool but it was never marketed and presented in a way that would enable it to be a fully functioning business.

Firstly, a "hack" or "virus" must clearly be recognized as a threat to a business of this nature. The lack of protection to the servers was a weakness to Formgrids and in my opinion it has sadly led to its demise.

Another weakness of Formgrids was that they did not know how to capitalize on what we all know was a fantastic product. Had they been able to capitalize, funds would have been available to increase security of their servers as well as protect their idea.

Therefore, formgrids will forever be recognized as the original but in my opinion it will not be the future. Racebook is up and running, formgrids is still down. Are you going to wait for Formgrids? Or are you going to use what is available?

You took the words out of my mouth. Look this new company whoever they are saw the gap and took it . They still have to survive , no adverts yet , free subscription until the end of January , so in the mean time they are running at a lose and need still to make it work.

100% but with formgrids down and not being up before the end of Jan in my estimation, if they provide a good service and begin to charge, they will get customers end of Jan. A lot of work still to be done, but they in the pound seat.

Of course there are similarities, every form card will have similarities, there are also glaring differences.

These guys use the winners time, form grids estimates the horses actual time. You can access a trainer or jockeys last x number of races just through clicking on their name in the card with form-grids, not so with this service, There is no a and b card.

We could take every form card that is online for any jursidiction around the world annd list thousands of similarities between them all -- how do you present identical data withoout seeming smilar to another service :)

By the way -- I am in no way affiliated to the new service, I took one look at it and it seems the same as services like sporting post, gallop, et al -- most of which are not useful to me moost aspects of form study.

The most useful publication for me is Computaform, which I still have to reference even if formgrids was up and running

Correct but do we all sit and feel sorry for ourselves , or does Mr Staffi wake up and smell the coffee and get his site back on track . He has spent years creating just a name Formgrids , everyone knows it and everyone has used it at some time or another . So I suggest Mr Staffi , gets to work and makes a better formgrids an improved formgrids or throw in the towel. Such s like and competition is good.
