I thought VARSIDE could be beaten by Quarillo or even Count Rosberg - I would not be rushing to take the 13-10.
DYNAMIC DIANA never rushed on debut and still produced a strong finish .. I think will win a few races
ABOVE ELEVEN would surely have run second last time but for severe interference - 4-1 gone but 3-1 still worth a grab.
FLASH FIRE should be in the exacta.
I was impressed with the fight shown by Power Grid last time - Tevez franked form- - If Grant was on he would be much shorter so I think around4-1 race time he could get in again.
Icon King needs to overcome the draw but he has won from draw 15 before!! - if he does then he could earn at huge odds - Mike Stewart is astute when exploiting Apprentice Allowances so I would not leave this out though the obvious horse, The Right Road does have strong claims -

Another sunny day with a gentle south easter.
Race 1: Varside is selected to beat Quarllo. They both have fair form and no money yet for first timers. Expect improvement from Count Rosberg with the benefit of a run under the belt and a top jock.
Race 2: Dynamic Diana looks hard to oppose with her main danger, Lady Sutton scratched.
Race 3: Rokatenda is due a win but very short priced. If Desert Lark sees out the trip, he is good enough to win. Fort Viva and One More Round could surprise.
Race 4: Imperial Chestnut jumps from a wide draw, but I like the way it has improved with each run, and is good value at 6/1. Quite a few others with chances.
I am puzzled as to why van Niekerk is not on any of the Nel runners today.
Race 5: I fancied Sao Paulo last time when very disappointing, but had excuses so I will give it another chance today. Christmas Carol and Evoke Emotion have fair form and should be in the shakeup. Lovely Rita is well in at best.
Race 6: Weakish field. All Mine selected from Sandy Bay.
Race 7: Tricky contest with a few of the form runners having gone up in the ratings. I think Wind River is great ew value at 16/1 if he can bounce back from his last poor run.
Race 8: Another open contest. Border Control took a while to win his maiden but has been kindly treated by the handicapper and could win again. Commander Bond is consistent and should be respected. Quite a few with chances.
