I will open another thread under the banner KDS - Auction where I will be auctioning off a stunning little piece of racing memorabilia.. A Hallmark Silver trophy which was presented to the winning jockey of the Gold Cup in 1938 (Help Naresh..)..P. Buckham

Took me ages to find out the Gold Cup winner of 1938 which was St Seiriol only to realize it was not ridden by P Buckham. After more searching found out P Buckham won the Gold Cup in 1933 aboard Flyaway IV.

Just some feedback as regards the KDS fund raising effort which will cease from the ABC point of view on February 22 2017 so I can finalise payment. To date I have received [strike]2[/strike] 3 donations [strike]and the promise of one (I have not checked my account this past two days)[/strike] ..so two books gone.

Auction: The bids will cease as at 23h59 on Sunday 19 February 2017. The state of play is so:-
- Case of Wine, the bid is with Dave at R1000
- Bayern Munich Jersey, no bids to date
- Trophy, the bid is with Shrek at R2500
The successful bid for the trophy will also get the Turffontein Centenary publication.

We are working to get some more racing memorabilia which will hopefully be put up here early in the week.

Saturday 18 February there will be a buy in competition. Buy In at R150 with R50 going to the KDS, please support this initiative.
There will be a small change to the rules. The default will be R100 win and R100 place on each selection...BUT... you may specify WIN ONLY or PLACE ONLY next to your selection per race
