The modern era has given sportsman more assistance than before. Imagine if those great sportsman from the 80s had the same facilities as they have today. Just look at the training centres look at the condition of football pitches in the winter then and now. Every single sport has advanced 500 fold over the past 25 years

The modern squash players don't have to be as fit as Khan was as the American scoring system is now used meaning you win a point for every rally won. In Khan's day you only got a point if you won the rally on your serve - games could go on endlessly.

Tiger Woods (as previously mentioned), must be up there... he made a lot of people look like they sucked on the course, and definately made alot of people suck off the course

i think that he will still finish with more majors than Nicholas. Woods just lights up a golf course and when he is closing in on a win the crowd take him there.

Barry Richards was the best ever batsman imo - nobody has ever had as much time as he had, been able to make such a mockery of bowlers and field placings or held a crowd so spellbound, but you had to have seen him bat to appreciate it.

Barry Richards only looked good in the Clifton vs Highbury match on McMillan.

I totally agree with Tipster and was lucky enough to see him play a number of times....:cheer:

Scored 9 centuries before lunch........took a OZ eleven to pieces with Lilee . Mc Kenzie and Tony lock in the side Scored an unbeaten 325 in a days play against them.

I will leave the last word to Sir Don Bradman......"Richards is "the world's best-ever right-handed opener".

I believe Rowdy was scorer for Clifton and was MVP. Jokes aside Mike Procter loved McMillan field and still holds Highbury record of 210 but during my time at Highbury a Clifton fielder caught Paul Rayner above his head on the boundary when he was on 206!

His discipline and BMT came from his Dad's influence and control (interesting stories how Dad controlled his behaviour at Sun City when he was here for the Million Dollar)
I'm not sure he will ever achieve those heights again,on his own steam, alone!

Phil 'The Power' Taylor needs a mention. Best dart player the world has ever seen. 16 time world champion. And a host of other incredible achievements.

do you think that darts is a sport? Cant be as you have a bunch of blokes drinking beer and throwing a piece of tungsten at a round wooden thing with numbers on it hung up against a wall.
