Can hewitson catch Murray for the appies title?

not sure of the numbers but will be a close race if Lewiston keeps riding for big yards till the end of the season.

Any bets???

Lyle is a brilliant wee Jock, but

Should he not be pegged back a bit? if they keep putting him on the good horses his claim will be out before he learns the game

He's been put on Tarry's second string behind Khumalo and he's got a better strike rate than Bling has with Tarry. That graded win the other day showed he really doesn't need his claim to be competitive and think he's more than ready to give the seasoned jocks a run for their money. If he doesn't go overseas I reckon he'll win the jockey championship in around 5 years.

My post is by no way negative

There has been a few fantastic UK appies that disapear after their claims up

Garrity atm ( had a double Saturday ) has been struggling and he's won some massive races

difference is hewitson is already 19 years old and he is really clever - could have gone to varsity to study medicine.7 distinctions ieb makes him twice as clever as the rest of the jockey room combined including older ones. 3 years champion. maybe less

Both very exciting and talented young jocks.........don't care who wins the title as long as they can take the next step up and become the next Bling, Striker, Lloyd, Marcus, Delpech, Whyte etc. The same said for Craig Zackey, very talented young rider.

It has been a very long time since we've had young jocks to make name for themselves on the local front.

Lyle is loaded with charisma and likability. He's also sharp and has crafted his manners to perfection. Only a minute is needed with him to see he's got the X-factor.
