.....what I fear most that when using the Sporting Pro I often can"t get it downloaded and it then tells me that the file is damaged.....I'd hate to have to dole out money then receive these types of errors and have to scramble on a race day to try and get action on a decent formguide.....I never had these issues with CF in the past but switched to SP because it was mahala and frankly CF making big changes to their format really irked me....now that SP has a charge .....I select the lesser of 2  :S ......

Guys , is it not just a case of getting too much of a good thing , must be a load of work involved in producing/inputing data etc , and papers are a thing of the past imo

What about winning Form ? Are they are part of the same group ?

I use Winning Form's online racecard. soap.hollywoodbets.net/wf/wf/guide/index.htm
Yeah, it has its glitches sometimes but these get resolved quickly. In conjunction, I recommend Microsoft's One Note where you can scribble onto the racecard with your mouse which turns into a pen. One Note saves automatically into the cloud and automatically downloads as a marked racecard into your phone or pad. Furthermore, because the online racecard is very simple and basic, downloading and uploading costs are minimised. For those who are not familiar, One Note is one of the applications in your most basic Microsoft Office/Home package.

Even when I am at the course, I now no longer use paper racecards.

I do like the Sporting Pro, especially if I can print it to paper and combine it into a little booklet for easy perusal.

As a freebie, which other websites offer the same printable option as the SP?

Thank you Mac for the info on the WF online racecard and especially the Microsoft One Note, if no printable freebie version is available then this will be what I will explore going forward.

....It's not a question of paying for a decent form guide....but how much is one pepared to pay....@ZAR10 per meeting and close to 500 local meeting per year the Sporting pro could set one back close to ZAR5K in a year and the Computaform @ZAR600/year now looks like a bargain.........as for the Winning Form just had a squizz...no pedigree for runners.....a total non starter for a oke like me...

Winning Form does have the sire, dam and damsire breeding - just as Sporting Post. ??

In the Beta format of Winning Form you must click the appropriate icon - it's there.

......OK now I got it.....but this is an interactive service and gr8 for the laptop and static computers.....the problem is when one is working off a tablet and not on Wi Fi.....opening each horse to check the ped will chew the 3G and the device battery power in the time to have to check all individually....what is needed is a simple downloadable form guide with this info open and in front of you while scrolling through the form guide.....

Multi, you must be looking at the Beta version. When you open the website a prompt will ask you "Beta" or "cancel". Click "cancel" and you will get the old simple basic downloadable version - that's the version I'm on about :-). And this is printable whether to paper or to One Note.
