I remember her beating some top jocks to the line (including Strydom if I remember correctly). Lets be honest when the praise was being heaped on her she was riding for a hot stable. Weiho was hot a couple of years ago but seems to have sliped a bit. I remember a horse called Ethics who Jessica rode to win on a few occassions. Put her on a descent horse and she will win

Cause woman jockeys ride plenty of winners. Why stick them at minor tracks when they can and have competed with the top riders? Plenty of honest good strong female riders this side..maybe they dont get enough opportunties over there.

I see the debate has raged on while I've been gone. I think the point of my original statement has been missed. The stable she is or was riding for has lost its gloss and this may have something to do with her lack of performance.
As i've stated in previous posts, I would like to see Jessica represent woman by getting a ride in the July. It may draw more woman to our beloved male dominated sport

Seems to me that the likes of Catsmug prefer to keep it a male sport. Next time you watch a uk meeting you will see plenty of females at the track..We have a number of female jockeys and some excellent trainers both on the flat and the jumps...one horse springs to mind..Best Mate a treble winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup..trained by a woman, Henrieta Knight.

Fair comment. My point is she does not get enough opportunity to ever become really great. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes in racing. I believe something must have happened to knock her confidence.
At a point in her young career she was brilliant IMO and if she gets given the chance again to ride to her full potential and her confidence returns, she will ride the best off their feet.
To answer your question if I had a horse with a realistic chance of winning the July, the horse would be good enough to win even with a young talented rider on. Remember these are our Jockeys of the future and with our top riders all going down under, jockeys like her, Gavin Lerena, Brandon Lerena, Lucian Africa and a few others are the stars of the future and Future July winners.
By the time I own a horse that runs in the July I may just ask her to ride.
