I had a few pennies and small antepost doubles on Mac De Lago at decent odds... But that draw is indeed a killer. I feel he was improving and getting stronger the end of last season.

With this race being devoid of pace and from his draw, I'm looking for Diesel Jet to go from gun to box and give Erico a nice Christmas box!!

2011 DANDCEWITHTHEDEVIL 15/1 ( 5YO M )

that draw for me is not ideal but i'll take my chances. he ran 5th from 15 at greyville and 9th from 9 over 1600m here. they must beat him

Caught the panel discussion this morning - Striker was saying that from the draw his horse might as well stay in the box - he reckons that the back straight is not level in that the inside is higher than the outside - so horses coming from wide draws has the added disadvantage of running 'uphill' to get in

All 4 panelists thought that French Navy and Power King were huge runners (Tim Woodruff selected Master Sabina as his 2nd choice) - and all 4 also thought that for Marcus to make the effort to get down to 53.5 kg's to ride St Tropez points to ST also having a definite chance.

For me I think the top weights have it all to do and as I have stated before St Tropez is my horse - would have been happier with a single figure draw, but let's hope Mr Marcus does not waste too much and have enough energy left to get this one home.

Dangers imo are Master Sabina, Easy Lover and Diesel Jet and perhaps ML Jet (if he stays the 2000) and Deo Juvente (if he somehow overcomes the draw)

I also fancy mac da lago only doubt is I would have liked one more prep run coming into the race but weiho did the same with wylie hall before..he wasn't knocked about in his prep run either..the biggest eway value is halve the deficit who has had 2 runs from shocking draws and now gets a draw..he to me has had the best prep in the race and last time his run was top class considering the start he had ...if you watch the replay he should be right there in the finish Saturday...if power kings wins I will be out of all exotics

Disappointed to see Swift Sarah has been scratched. She was going to be my play of the day. :(

Thanks for the stats bob.....

Seems like it isn't really a favorites race then? 1 fav won since 2007?

This years favorite is suspect in that it may need one more run to bring him around and there are loads of other pretenders waiting in the wings......

This mare of MDK has looked different division since being raced off the pace and they have won this with longer priced fillies before.

Also looks like 4 year olds holds sway over the last few years?

For Me obvious Master Sabina .

Reason being to run 4 lengths behind in Stakes Race Carrying 61.5KG.(After a Year's Rest)
Not Forgetting coming from a 12 draw.
Seen this horse a month ago as i was on course and this Horse is a Monster!.
Will mow them down coming onto the Straight.
Even though 6 yr old.
He Lost this Race To Yorker two Years Ago ,was oncourse also that day.
WAs Flying at the end,one more stride and would have won.
Will Make Amends come Saterday

Craig Pienaar wrote: Anton proved on Saturday that few can beat a wide draw like him in this country and with such a handy weight and a good prep surely St Tropez is a big runner

go and back it. A SILVANO, He Left all the other Jooste's Horse and Picked the Silvano , that just won the 2400m and cum down to 2000m with no weight.
