This won't be popular on this forum ,but In line with my criticism of the Equus awards ,I have to say that Kalamain (IMO)deserved to pip Notting Hill for the award.
He has an ability rating of 92 as opposed to 86 ,and in the Derby trial would have theoretically beaten him at level weights!(2kg for 1.5 lgths)
It begs the question though, and that is why all awards are not awarded based on our chosen and established method of ability rating?

John tbh I know it means something to you and other connections but I think all awards are pish and not worth stressing about.

Just shag them on the track

Ps I hear some owner had a go at big mouth forum posters race 3 on Friday , did anyone hear anything ?

Bob ,all this stress and argument caused by this subjective junk ..................if the awards were on ability ratings ,everybody would know the criteria and the winners would speak for themselves.
(Imagine, after all the races, and points earned on the grand prix circuit, some committee sat down and decide who REALLY was world champion!!)

Oscar ,I don't blame you for being pissed off mate, but its the subjective rules that cause the discontent! If everyone was aware that the 3 yr old horse with the highest ability rating would get the award for "3yr WITH OLD MOST ABILITY" , can't imagine too many arguments with that!
Some years, the contenders could be a stayer and a sprinter, and never met, then the rating should surely be the criteria!
