Great riding last night, i saw his ride on Libertine differently Craig P, Antons mount drifted to the outside and considering Delpech had to switch back to the inside and then still make up 2 lengths with 150 metres to the line shows what a brilliant ride it was.

That ride on LIBERTINE is the best ride from ANY jockey in a loooong time
You you just have to look past the stake of the race to really appreciate it

I'm never quite sure if events similar to last night should be seen as someone's skill or a demonstration of how often they seemingly fail to get anywhere near such heights. I have no opinion really on AD as a quality jock or otherwise but there was a different him on board last night, one with obvious determination and desire. For me, it is a shame that jockey is not seen much more often.

Reason for the heading is i recall some months back Delpech being spoken of in a negative light on the site anyway mayby my memory is incorrect - the point being brilliant rider hence De Kocks choice and brilliant riding last night!

Delpech might have ridden very vigorous but Anton shifted towards outside deliberately and was always going to close the door on anyone coming up the outside rail top ride imvho
