The defenders of racing want a tote product only ,and punters want fixed odds ..............................when is somebody going to realise that a betting exchange IS a fixed odds tote (the gambling commission recognised it ,and coupled them as "person to person gambling) and instead of "P" applying for the licence ,have ,to date ,being the biggest obstacle to the concept ..........................clueless!!!!!

Rob you are 1 million % right..I believe that the bet exchange era in SA is not far off and will without a doubt remedy most problems, and revive interest in racing..
Give everything but up!

yes, you use bookmakers,i use bookmakers
you play the tote, i dont
I dont play the tote because i`m a different kind of punter, i price watch and bet what i think is value..
I can`t do that with the tote
Im not anti tote, ive said many times bookies would be happy to act as commision agents for the exotics, they offered ,but where turned down... ( greedy operators)
I`m NOT anti the tote , i want the choice where i place my bets

There is only one exchange, nae one will be happy with a second rate alternative

That is true.............but a joint venture between "P" and Betfair makes sense as there are already contracts in place between them!!!!.................... so this "unclean" label they give Betfair is hypocritical in any event!
