This webpage is not available
Reload Less
Google Chrome could not load the webpage because www.formgrids.com took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection.
Check your Internet connection.
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.
Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server...
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don't believe you should be using a proxy server: Go to the Chrome menu > Settings > Show advanced settings... > Change proxy settings... > LAN Settings and deselect "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
Error code: ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
I am obviously NOT having issues with my internet connexion since it is the same connexion I am using to post this message with

For Formgrids technical queries, please use wolf@formgrids.com.
When sending me a query, please include in your email:
Getting your IP address:
How to do a screen print
In Windows it is real simple:
If you have other systems, e.g. Mac, then ask or search Google for how.
When sending me a query, please include in your email:
- Your IP address (see below for how)
- Your Operating System: e.g. Win XP, Win 7, MacOS, Linux, Android, etc.
- The error message (and if it makes sense, a screen print - see below for how)
- The browser you use
- If you know what network you connect to, e.g. MTN, Vodacom, Telkom, iBurst, etc.
- If you are using any mobile device, please let me know what you know about the device: e.g. Samsung S5 phone, or iPhone 5, etc.
Getting your IP address:
- Go to www.showmemyip.com
- Select and copy the RED number and paste into the email
- Searching Google for "show my ip" also works
How to do a screen print
In Windows it is real simple:
- Ensure the window you want printed is active
- Hold the "alt" key down and at the same time press "Prt Scr"
- Most of the time you can simply paste into your email
- If that does not work, open Word, paste into there and then either attach the Word doc or try copy from there into your email message
If you have other systems, e.g. Mac, then ask or search Google for how.

Some tips for connection problems:
I have found that when a connection problem occurs, the browser and/or network software still remembers the failed connection.
So, try the following:
Even better, you should clean up the browser cache as well.
There is a great product (there is a free version) called CCleaner. There is a Windows and a Mac version. Both work well to clean old files on your computer which includes cache and temp files created and stored by your browser. It is a maintenance step that you should do regularly anyway.
Once installed, run to clean old files.

So, try the following:
- Close down the browser (all copies and windows) and start it again
- Do 1 above and disconnect from your network and reconnect.
- If that fails, restart he whole system, e.g. reboot Windows

- Search for "ccleaner" in Google
- The top link "CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download"
- Click on this link and make sure you are at site called "Piriform" with the pear in the logo
- Click the "Download" button
- Choose the free version, scroll down and choose "piriform.com" to download
- If you use Windows, then click "Run"
- Follow the instructions

Thanks Wolfgang. I seem to be up and running again.
Another question if you don't mind - the data you receive for SA racing, I am led to believe that it comes from GC? Is this correct? If so is there a cost to the state, and secondly is it available to anybody?
I prefer to keep my own databases as such (which admittedly) I am sing for grids for at the moment but would like to automatically update rather than manually. Any help would be appreciated

You are correct. The relationship we and others have needs to be negotiated directly with GC. There certain requirements and T & C's, of course.

Update on Formgrids.
Looks like I am getting a handle on things and have learned a lot about the very complex subject of Internet security.
The site ran well today. A few glitches here and there but the system recovered well and by itself. I have a few more performance issues to tackle but /I should be able to get back on track with the development of Version 3. Yep! There is an exciting upgrade to Formgrids on the horizon. It will be faster, easier to use, improved info displays plus some new stuff.
But I had to get this attack out of the way. This was more intense and more difficult to deal with than I had any idea. Perhaps this was a good thing this happened now and to get under control before version 3 goes live.
