A brilliant tackle that 99/100 times would not raise an eyebrow - That was the most confusing call for me

Ashwin Willemse said it perfectly...HM needs to realise that you cannot win in 2014 playing the type of rugby the Bulls played in 2003... :)

What about the dubious decision he gave us at the end. Would have saved the game for us if it wasn't for Steyn's blunder. A high tackle is a high tackle and if it potentially stopped a try it's a yellow. People listen to the commentators too much. e,g they were all up in arms in early game that Arg were robbed cos of charge down decision but the law says a charge down is when it hits player while rising from the foot. That ball was knocked forward while at the peak of a chip kick so was no longer rising. Even Mallet said disgraceful decision without referring to the wording of the law.

Tipster, I think the commentators know more than you and I and both tackles,if they were high then deserved the same sanction. Duanes tackle was legitimate. You cannot argue against it and the only way you would think that was the right result is if you had tipped or backed the Aussies. Springboks, even with Steyn were robbed!

I tipped Boks on SB by 1 and lost R100on outcome, but at the end the only person I was blaming was Steyn for his two schoolboy errors. But that was on spur of moment and the truth is it goes a lot further than that cos there are a few players who shouldn't be there.

it must be snowing in Durban if tipster doesn't blame the ref for boks loss :P

The Good, I hope you donate any money you won on the game to a charity as you won by default!

Unless I'm mistaken the Duane penalty was not for a high tackle but for a breakdown offense but unfortunately one-eyed knee jerk Bobby was so busy lambasting the ref that we couldn't hear the latter's explanation. His explanation was definitely longer than the two words "high tackle".

I see on the Supersport write up the penalty was given for a high tackle. Bad Ref cost Springboks the game. They read it our way.

The ref that worries me is the Sharks one, very quick to blow against Sharks and very slow to blow for them - he is clueless and player had to tell him law about late charge on Griquas kicker which looked like a dive anyway. On the other hand Sharks team are more mistakes ridden than Boks.
