From Dorrie

Today is Xmas in July raceday in aid of Uitenhague Childrens Home. At the last minute we stepped in and we appealed to our family, friends and patrons to help support this worthy day. The redponse was overwhelming raising around R40 000.00 in 2 days. ABC and Oscar, as usual, came to the party. Please all watch today to see these kids have a great day out....
We have 10 runners today.

Race 1 Chellvan Abbey hoping to give Wayne his first winner back..
Race 2 Promising having her first run here but work has been....promising. Ravishing Jewel seems to be getting more confident each race and should be right there.
Race 3 Zenith and Epic Illusion both very well.
Race 5 Impresa may be a bit short but not out of it. Al Cappuchino for Oscar is working well. Sebastian Bolt shoul be running on.
Race 6 La Salle is fit and well and a runner if all goes well.
Race 8 Rosey Peg a good place chance

Well done to the Shams, ABC and Oscar (and everyone who contributed) who will have helped make the day special for some (thumbs up emoticon!)

Just a few observations or whatever...

R1 A few of these have been supported in the past, Whistler lto and I see support again and on debut Kent Rock was backed in from 20s to 7/2, has yet to run on good ground. May not be a staraight forward contest and I think I'll avoid.

R2 Zen and Now massively over-priced imo based on lines through Nice Catch. Others to consider at bigger prices Acastus and Jasmin Bloom. Trillium supported. Elfpower my choice but looks an open contest.

R3 Can't fathom why Mulaazem is running back over 1000, ready for egg but surely too short on what has been seen to date. Destiny Driven looks good to me but Sun Flash well supported lto and with a stronger more experienced jockey up... Red Guard to be thereabouts.

R4 Cape Siskin and Albarakah to fight it out, preference for the former. Money For Love trifecta.

R5 Liked Keen On Magic until I saw it had been backed into nothing lol!! Not for me at the current price. Yet to be convinced by the jockey but I'll chance Impresa in another open contest. The Ford is back on my radar at the prices and I will also nibble at O Jallad.

R6 Careful Hiker

R7 Greeff trifecta

R8 River Tyne. For value... nibbling at Entrancer and Polly Porch.

Be(s)t of luck to all

SILVAN SPIRIT is my 20/80 E/w selection - Has always had to give weight now others are catching up with her - Won the Wedgewood last year so should go close if she peaks today
Respect BORN FOR BALLET who might enjoy this trip
BLACKMALKIN worth an e/w
PENTE`S DAUGHTER strong 4 place
KENT ROCK should be included in the Bi-pot with GRIM REAPER

Howzit everyone. Beautiful day in the Slumtown. In office with aircon running on 16 and fullblast.

Fairview today will not be for sissies. Big punters with big balls will back the favorites and probably win big

However there are so many inconsistent horses in the track today and so many funny jockey bookings, I am not sure any favourite will win.

Obviously the less said about certain individuals, the better, so I will try to stick to the animals.

Again, these are my views. My logic is not necessarily Loopy's logic or anybody else's.

Obviously hoping for a winning return to the track for Wayne in R1. Should be an obvious exacta with Wadi Ramm (boxed)

R2 - I like the 2 Snaith runners, with preference for Elfpower. Not ignoring the chances of I'm a Rockstar, RavishingJewel or Mid Summer (3rd run in PE) and by no means out of the reckoning here.

R3 - I do NOT want to tip anything in this race. Many in my view with chances. However, Look at Sir Benjamin... Charlie gets this Black Minaloushe gelding from KZN where it earned 2 cheques over 1400 or less. 1st run in PE he tries 1600 and was only 5.75 behind. The winner's time was 98.04 that day(last week) which is almost 2 seconds less that the 'standard time' in the race card. That is for Paddock Stakes. This is a maiden race. This horse is never far behind the winner. Maybe he wont win today, but I think he is worth a decent place bet @33/1 and 6/1 for 3 places

R4 - Cape Siskin makes most sense on this card. Banker for me. Outsider of note to squeeze a place and make the QT pay is Sedge. 4lenghts behind Copper Parade in Feb. Won 2x already over c&d. 4kg off the back. MR down from 100 9 months ago to 81 today.

R5 - Everybody will ask questions and ask for the Stipes to investigate when this 25/1 shot wins today. Fransie rides for Ms Bremner. O Jallad has had 4 good runs in PE since relocating form CT. Makes a good proposition to me

R6 - National Forestr only wins 2000m or more. Got my vote

R7 - Snaith or Greeff. My pref 7/9/2/6

R8 - Going short at the back end of P6. Only 2 and 3 for me. Maybe add 4,6or 7 depending on the % today

Have fun all. May the best formreader win
