i also agree with blueyonder here..if you feel a horse is no good..substantiate why...blueyonder made a case why he likes the favourite..and ROYAL says it will get beat....unless he doesnt say y..other than its his gut feeling....he has to be labelled a guesser..or a cynic at best

RS...how is 5/10...no value....for a horse coming from a top stable with 2 year olds winning left right and centre,horse ran in a grade 1,knowing that the stable could have any number of horses in that race...going a trip that will suit...has visited the course....if you said that you staying out,thats fine...but to say u going looking for others in the race because theres no value in the favourite,is a little short sighted...i think...but taking 7/10 first 4 gullivers trvel over backing 4/10 anjaal...that may be value

@ RG im not saying im staying out , when i say no value at 5/10 im not a big punter that can play 5000/10000 on the 5/10

i would rather play 10000/2000 or 10000/1600

fair enough if the i backed the 2 horses and they loose i lost 3600 but to loose 10000 if the 5/10 shot loses is a diff story,

for interest sake i put 500 on both horse so im hoping either wins for me, i have added Exelero as my dbl on both of them for 250 each.so my outlay today is 1500 and im hoping for a decent profit or back to the drawing board.

if racing was a certainty i would stop be a cost accountant, i play for fun. win or loose.

I see Master of Rock runs in the first. I remember first time out it was said on ABC that he was special. Worth a go at 3/1?

For me Anjaal will take some beating. Heavily backed on debut and then feature raced but 4/10 too cramped. With all the talk about Baksteen, a fixed place may be a better prospect at similar odds to Anjaal win.

My best bet is Excelero. Drop to 1400 should be ideal

maybe i misconstrue what the word value means....to me value is getting something at a better price without compromising on risk...and by that i mean the risk of both of them running into the money is about =,but 1 is evens the other is 15/10.....so i have to take the 15/10 horse because i am getting more

If I may add my opinion to the Anjaal debate - 5/10 is definitely not good value because the horse is priced up at what the bookies think it may achieve on it's breeding, i.e. the family have shown they get the 1600m - I am not expert on breeding matter, let's get that straight.

If we look at the horse, it has never run beyond 1200m, it is draw fairly wide, and above all else, these are 2 year old maidens. We always hear how two year olds improve, some many lengths, others need time.

Let's be honest, if this horse belonged to a smaller/lesser stable, would you make it a 5/10 shot, on what it has shown thus far? Likewise, put a less fancied jockey up (no disrespect intended), and you would push him out a few more points in the betting, right?

This is racing, and we will always agree to disagree (Agra), I don't believe 8/10 will be a good price on this horse, he should be a lot bigger.

The value lies with Dancingwithjackson (10/1) based on he's last run, and to whom? He appeared to be running on over 1400m, so from draw 1 today and hopefully with improvement, he could be the one to beat.

Ultimately the betting (for this race) is structured on perception and hear-say, certainly not on proven ability.

Some punters have seen the value on Anjaal having taken the 6/10 into 4/ 10 .however I believe Baksteen will make the improvement expected to try and qualify for the feature on July day for 2 year olds...imo great race expected.

Nice logical post Bayern. Perhaps the last sentence should read...'not on proven ability'...{smile}
