Race 3, the first timer, Sugar Honey Pie. Both mommy and daddy's offspring seem to do well:

3 very nice runners today- all with winning chances.
Race 5: Careless Love- drops back in trip, but that should not be a problem. Not a strong field- Vade Mecum the main danger amongst the older fillies. 2yos might struggle in the heavy. Do Right good debut, and a couple of unraced fillies.
Expect her to win this.
Race 8: Blarney Bay. Toughest task to date, but is well and will enjoy the soft. Claims 4kg, but if Carstens wins earlier in the day, will only get 2.5kg off.
South Kensington and Ashton Park are consistent and will give him most to do. Changingoftheguard is slung in here if regaining his best form, but has been well below best last two.
BB can step up again here
Race 9: Knysna Lagoon. Competitive fillies handicap, but she benefits from good draw, and will be in the shake-up. Longest price of my three, but offers e/w value at 8/1. Can't rule out anything in this race, but Ma Choix, Petara, Intimate Connection look best.

Looks a nice and competitive card and the wide betting in a few races shows just that. Below are my first picks race by race.
Race 3 #8 Shingle Beach ( not a confident first selection as it seems very competitive. Can see further improvement from the 5 possible back end of trifecta and quartet.
Race 4 #6 Rebels game seems the right one, Anniston the biggest danger for me
Race 5 of the raced runners careless love looks the right one, biggest danger for me is the 9 do right. First timers however don't need to be stars to throw a spanner in the works. My preference being for the 7 evil woman.
Race 6 I like the 1 destiny driven but I have healthy respect for the 2 gigabyte as well as the 8 thrill factor. I feel that the 7 just needs one more run to regain his fitness.
Race 7 I could easily back Varistar again however I feel the 5 Captain Rei who is dropping in the ratings is where the value lies. He's having his 3rd run after the rest and may have just needed his last one is well drawn and I think is value at around 12/1.
Race 8 South Kensington could profit if blarney bay and Robertson cut each others throats up front. He gets a nice strong rider, well drawn and could go very close in this line up. Again this is where I feel the value lies at some 9/2.
Race 9 I feel is a wide open affair possibly one of the widest on the card and il be including 4 horses for the PA here. All of, 2,6,7,13. I like the looks of number 13 Lobola I think she is an improving sort and the extra furlong should suit her down to the ground.
All the best clanners

Other Races:
Race 1 : Aliysa's Prize should win this. In the Know next best of those that have raced.
Race 2: Scratchings have ruined this race, but Barossa Valley can set his own pace and will be hard to beat.
Race 3: Shingle Beach ran a cracker last time. Will fight this out with First of May.
Race 4: Rebels Game has good form, and should win if she gets the trip, but may struggle with the 1600m. Arniston and Even So are contenders.
