Most interesting race to me today is the last, where Lady Casey won her maiden extremely impressively (taking Runaway Time as the line horse, LC ran to a 114 ::o::o - and on the Formgrids 'Lengths Behind' she ran 6 lengths behind Across the Ice at level weights ::o) A repeat of that run good enough to blow this field away; if she were to fail, the other 'stand out' performer is Big Cat Diary - ran in the same race as Across the Ice, beaten 4.25 lengths bit receiving 12.5 kg's - running to a 73 imo

Some other thoughts:

R1: Tiger Hotspur all the rage, but last time out finished just in front of the 16/1 shot Njawu, who has not set the world alight in to subsequent efforts - so while TH may improve on the sand, he can't be value at that short price - I'm backing him up at least with the 2 runners that showed some fair form on the sand over this trip - those being Law Enforcer and Penitent Pirate

R2: Another tough maiden - not much between Runaway Time, Forever a Friend and Conny Bonny on theirs runs behind Slick Deputy, so all 3 must have some sort of a chance - Twilight Eclipse made a fair debut in September last year at this track and could prove the right one in a weak field; stable companion Gold Swirl ran a fair debut in August last year at this track, but was not fancied then, so I prefer TE; then we have the first timer Buffalo Dance - who knows?

R3: Sub Shaawes returns after a rest - not the greatest form imo and also drawn wide; I prefer the chances of Play-Play from Triple Distilled - not much between them when both put in fair efforts behind Amour de la Bonte and Play-Paly has the added advantage of pole position; Samogan tries the sand, so who knows and the same could be said for Cherry Breeze, who may like the surface (being by Windrush) but is also drawn wide

R4: Very open fillies and mares handicap - over the 1200, the inside draws need to be included - otherwise a pin will come in handy

R5: Trip Tease on the upgrade and I think he will achieve that illusive 4th victory in a row; Hang Fire has consistent form and should fill 2nd box again imo, not sure if Sugar and Shake will have the pace over the 1000

R6: Principled all the rage, but in January he finished behind Keagan's Jet at this track and now is much worse off at the weights - much too short in the betting imo - both Magner runners (especially Silver Specialist - GO ELVIS (tu)) are effective at this track and Golden Orb could also feature; Peregrine tries the sand and is another that needs consideratioin imo

R7: National Road is improving after a rest and on the run behind Panjo in June last year over this trip, looks very well in here when compared to the favorite Shadow Line; Be Mine Tonight the other that needs consideration imo

Enjoy (tu)

As usual, you call it very well Frodo.
We have a virus around and are careful when we nominate at present. All three of our runners today are very well and the bloods of this am are very good.
Piere called for the ride on Play Play, not RB Kid. I feel that Play Play has his issues, which Deon knows well. Red Bull Kid is certainly not going to Hollywood but is on the up, slightly though. He jumps well and was right up there last time until the speed of the race over 1000m saw him outpaced. He then stayed on nicely to the line. Maybe a 1400m is his game, but the 1200m should be better today than the 1000m of his last run. I think that Sub Shaawes has very good sand form and is the one to beat. I cannot seperate my two at home, but Play Play has the form....and RBKid has the services of Striker...

Trip Tease takes a rise in class. He has issues in the stalls. His last run was brilliant, because the strip on the inside was firm and the rest of the course was loose. He had to carry the 62 kg and get through that going, get to the leader and win, after a poor start and two bumps. I believe that he is the best bet on the card and will win today. (I will be a nervous wreck during the start/loading process).

Guys I was at turf last week. Was amazed with how immaculate Pinot noir was turned out. This guy has average turf form but seems to grow another leg on the sand. Gets in form Gavin Lerena in the irons and I think can be the biggest challenger to shadow line today if given a good ride.
Il be taking an e/w double on Pinot noir and lady Casey.

Silver specialist no weight on the back today I also give an e/w chance to wont be taking principled at that price. I make strykers best ride of the day in the 4th on Seattle fairy and am tempted to banker in everything because strydom is well over due another win, don't think he's won since copper parade?

All the best chaps
