Am I way off the mark when I say that Hatt at no stage tried to give his horse the best possible chance to WIN that race?
Never pulled the stick, never smacked him on the shoulder or behind, in fact he hardly shook the reigns at him.

I don't mind horses being given a run but shouldn't the jocks try to obtain the best possible position?

Just a question.

Wonder how good Divine Jet would have been if he wasn't with kannemeyr stable who only know how to win with milers and stayers , Drier would make him a champion , but we will never know how good he really is :o

I think that is a little unfair. That horse has been plagued with problems from the onset of his career, not only physical but controversial as well.....

Kannemeyer is a top trainer.

Jackson never tried to win. If he was pushed from 200 out, would not have been a race. I was on Divine Jet, so I am not biased. Maybe part of the strategy to get Jackson at better weights in bigger races? Maybe I am to unintelligent to figure this one out

Blou, did you actually watch the horse move to the start? He was short (like he normally is) and is just not moving freely. If a horse is unsound there is very little a trainer can do with it.

I'm sure Kannemeyer has had a good sprinter, somewhere down the line.

If the horse is short not striding out
Why not scratch
Surely an experienced jock like Karl would pick that up?
