Horses respond differently to the dirt in their faces even with blinkers. That doesn't always limit the dirt in their eyes. Some horses don't mind it and some just hate it especially if a clod hits their eyes.
It is kind of a craps shoot.

I concur,no wonder the uk jockeys are making hay..
I backed Sweet Reason,it was 15-20 lenghts behind the winner with 4 furlongs to go,then the jock uses up all petrol to get competitive.finished 4th beaten 3 lenghts. Why he never sat nearer in slow early paced race I will never know.
Then I backed Tap It Rich, the jock had it 6 wide the whole way round, but there was nothing on he's inside. Why run so wide.

now you know why Buick will never be as good or even half as good as Moore. Why oh why did Buick decide to move up down the back stretch when they were still going quickly down the back.
What a bad, bad move.
Great ride by Moore, rode them to sleep

I must say...if it were not for the Magician....(both of them...horse and rider)...The Fugue would have won...Buick must have wondered what whistled past him....

If he sits another 100 meters down the back and doesn't make that move, he wins anyway.
Buick was so concerned what Little Mike was doing that he forgot to ride his own race.
That's why he will never be a Ryan Moore or Richard Hughes
Simples

I don't know if it's the NTSC/PAL thing...but the picture clarity could be better.

Good ride from moore, horse responded like a shot out of a gun down the stretch,
any 'moore' faster and both horse and jock wudve took off.
Incredible speed. also I agree, poor judgment from buick.
