Ben...the most difficult thing is not to pick a winner....IMO...it is to pick and place a winning bet....
there are the guys who pick a 4 or 5 horse place ATC...and win consistently....or even a favourite double....
two things my dad always told me....(ther'es a list of about a hundred....:
)
a 50/1 loser is still a loser and an even money winner is still a winner...so don't chase the money....
know when to to call it a day...

Hey Ben-Hur,don't take life [punting] so serious
Believe me most of us almost always make the same mistake more than twice
I also had to take a step back a few times
I stopped punting for 3weeks,just checked the ABC Forum every night,checked racing results
When i started punting again my head was cleared
My punting skills have improved ever so slightly
