I'm sure Great Sun raced in those silks Rob. Statistics show raced 33 times for 10 wins and 2 places. I think he also contested the classics but went wrong somewhere , you must be right about the blood count problems.(tu)

I remember wanting to back him in the guineas(Cape I think) and got the info that his blood count was bad and he was getting electrolyte treatment..........he was never quite the same thereafter!

Extra Cover 2nd time out. Won by 17+ lengths with Gavin Van Zyl up if I remember correctly. A length and a half behind at the 400m mark!:

Not on debut but I can remember a horse of Brian Cunningham winning by about 30 lengths at a midweek meeting at Scotsville over I think 1200 meters - I think I still have a pic - will need to find it.

Pirhobeta, we don't have any goat tracks in Natal.
Only perceived to be goat tracks these days by people who have not been there or maybe only once or twice.
< Seriously he was a day away from being gelded as he was a huge handful and had tried to badly injure Paul Gadsby and Johnny Dawson amongst others. Alistair decided to just try give him a race to give him something to think about and it worked well. From then on a different horse. Colins, was that horse not Blazing Hooves?

Craig - gee testing the memory - the name that springs to mind is Helenita but I could be totally wrong - I have the pic somewhere - incidentally it was one of those days that they had a hurdle race and the going was pretty soft.
